URGENT!! My friend is innocent but he was sharing the looker w/ the guy.Good criminal lawyer in Los Angeles?

Question:
This is what happened to a friend of mine:The supervisor of a privately contracted company discovered her employees committing a theft in the baggage ramp area and contacted law enforcement officers. X and Y were working the baggage ramp when they conspired and stole a digital camera. A witness, another employee, observed the two working the belly of the aircraft, loading baggage. He later saw them standing in front of their shared locker acting suspiciously. This behavior is suspicious because thieves in the past have hidden stolen items in their lockers. The digital camera was found in their shared locker. The later admitted that the camera had fallen out of one of the bags and they conspired to hide it in their locker.
Charges Filed / Max Jail / Max Fines:
PC 484 (a) Petty Theft / 6 months / $1,000
PC 485 Misappropriation of Property / 6 months / $1,000
182(a)(4) Conspiracy / 1 yr / $10,000
they were sharing the locker but he didnt stole the camera it was the other guy.
Help!

Answer:
I am sorry I do not live in the Los Angeles area, so I can not recommend a lawyer for your friend. I am sure that if you contact any large law offices in the area they will have associates that will specialize in this type of defense.

I don't know why employees would be required to share lockers, there is always the possibility of an innocent person getting involved in something unwanted because of this.

If the "thieves" have hidden stolen items in the lockers in the past, why haven't your friend or other workers who knew about the thefts reported what was going on to the supervisor as soon as they knew it was happening?

I caught classmates of mine in junior high trying to put something in my locker through the air vents, and went to my teacher and principal in the speed of light. It was a good thing that I did, as it was some type of illegal drugs and I definitely did not want to be involved in anything of that sort. It did not matter that I was called all kinds of names and taunted for doing so.

I didn't have much trouble with anyone attempting to even bully me after these jerks figured out I wasn't going to sit back and let them ruin my life.

I don't know what the judicial system will decide, but you do know that the old song of "it wasn't me it was the other guy," does not sound like much of a defense. It is the adult version of the dog ate my homework.

If your friend is innocent, he needs to find or his lawyer needs to find other witnesses that can attest to his innocence. I wish him the best, and hope that he learns an important lesson from this.

I live on the east coast, and lockers are not shared at workplaces here. I worked in a retail situation where a new store location was being opened, and we were not allowed to go in for training without our individual locker assignments. Some lockers had been delivered and installed, but not enough for all of the employees and we ended up waiting an additional two days before we could go in and start putting up displays and merchandise.
If He knew it and didn't report it,he's guilty.
sound really messed up. If there's a way the other guy will step up and admit he's the one who took the camera.
