St. louis, mo, lawyers in criminal practice. Does the court or public defender appoint cases?

Question:

Answer:
The office of the prosecutor determines whether there may be enough evidence to demonstrate the law has been broken. In criminal matters then, an order is given by the court for that person to appear in person before the court and hear the indictment. As soon as a person needs to appear, then, that person has the right to defense strategy which means a public defender may be appointed by the court if the person cannot afford an attorney.
