What will my major have to be if i wanted to be a criminal defence lawyer ?

Question:
Majors, minors.

Answer:
It depends on what programs your school has. You could major in Criminology/Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology or Political Science. Talk with a guidance counselor at you high school, or a college advisor to be sure.
Major Kahunas!
Criminal Justice aka Justice Studies
pre-law, political science, sociology, criminal justice, even psychology. There's no one major you need to get into law school, so pick something that interests you and study hard.
Nothing. There is no such thing as "pre-law", so you could take molecular biology if you wanted. You just have to take the LSATs and pass. Political science courses would certainly help.
Law
You can major in whatever you want. You will need a bachlor's degree of your choosing prior to entering law school, when you graduate law school you can be a defense lawyer if you like. Most attorney's get a bachlor's degree in business as it helps them to run the business side of their practice.
First, unless you're Canadian, it's "defense."
Take what you LIKE as an undergraduate. Do this so you get good grades. Don't think you have to take Criminal Justice, Poli. Sci., Sociology, etc. - unless you really LIKE them.
When you apply to Law School, they're looking for a well rounded person who happens to get good grades. Get a job in the area you're studying - even if it's only an internship and you don't get paid. They like that.
I went to Law School with nurses, Medical Doctors, an airline pilot who graduated from the Air Force Academy as well as regular "kids" right out of college. Cops, military - you name it - they were there.
Take what you LIKE!!
Good Luck!! No matter what you end up doing - it's a great graduate education...
cant you major in just about any thing most people choose something closely related to that field though, buisiness degree, criminal law, which carries all aspects of criminology, criminal investigations, criminal behavior, criminal proceedure and the study of the court systems ,and alot of sociology and psychology, these are the basics , this degree has alot to do with the criminal justice system but not the courts and legal system per say.
then you apply for law school after making excellent grades and you study study study and we see you on the news as the outstanding criminal defense lawyer. i think thats how it works , how does that sound.?
It really depends on the program you are in. I am in the CJ program going for my Bach. and you can do alot with that degree. So I guess you would really need to talk to your advisor and see what they recomend.
