Are there any criminal defense lawyers in La. willing to do a pro bono case?

Question:
My friend really needs some help. He's been in prison for 6 yrs, and I know that is alot of time that has passed and there are deadlines and all. Thing is it seems that his rights were seriously violated when he was being questioned, and after being arrested. I am trying to help him find someone( a good attorney) who will listen to his case, and try to help him. He pled to get a sentence reduction(which didn't happen), but from what I understood he made the plea because his family thought that is what would be best. That was coming from his family. I believe he is innocent. Please someone help.

Answer:
As a result of the long delay since the trial, chances are many of the appeals he would have had by right are now waived. Nonetheless, should you wish to have someone look over his case, I recommend contacting the Louisianna Bar Association. They should be able to put you in touch with a criminal attorney willing to do pro bono work.

If he pled, he may have very little recourse. Few criminal lawyers do pro bono work although if their is good publicity attached to it you might find one that will do it for cheap. Pro Bono work in Louisiana usually falls to the public defenders office, the louisiana appellate project, the innocence project, the death penalty resource center, or the law clinics and Tulane and Loyola.
what did he do? if you are ashamed to post the details then so far the six years is not nearly enough!!!
