Why do you think most people resort to fad diets, "weight loose pills"?

Same reason people play the lottery, quick fix, and something for nothing.
because everyone is intereated in quick and easy results (Quick Fix) Not everyone is interested in the long term benefits of exercise!
I agree. If you look at the labeling on most of the products you're talking about they say " when used in combination with regular exercise and a healthy diet ". If people would do those two things and skip the pills, etc. they would lose the weight. I guess you could say that the same thing that got them there keeps them there. Laziness!
You are right to say the fad diets and weight lose pills wont work. The best alternative is still exercise and eat less only nutritious food like fibre rich vegetable and fruits.Cut down on carbohydrates like pastry stuff, rice, noodles and etc. Avoid taking sweet drinks becos sugar is the main culprit to weight gain due to the fact that whatever we eat is turned into sugar and excess sugar is turned into fat and stored at parts of the body we hate the most, i.e.the thighs, the waist and etc. So be smart, eat smart and you will lose weight without any fuss.
Firstly, it takes a lot of determination to stick to a regular fitness routine whose result would be apparent only after some time. Thus fad diets seem an easy way out!
Secondly, advertising is a powerful thing! Its lures ppl to but smething whch promises thm to 'transfrm' overnight!
Thirdly, some ppl try good fitness routine 4 sometime but wen they see no or less result to wat they expected in say 2 weeks, they give up!
4 most part u r right! I think it must be understood dat a good fitness routine will reflect on ppl's health only aftr smetime, but its result will b lifelong!
Mostly because people are lazy. They work hard at being lazy. It sounds strange, but look at how many people will walk past the stairs to wait for an elevator to take them up one floor. And the people that circle the parking lot looking for a spot close to the doors.
Ignorance plays a big part in it also. Sure you can lose a ton of weight in a month on some of these diets, but where are they losing the weight from? Not much from fat. Most of it is muscle and water that they are losing the weight from. And then they wonder why they don't look like Brad Pitt.
We are a nation who is addicted to the quick fix. We have no patience for ANYTHING. We are greedy, we want it all now. We want to be on a low carb diet but still eat bread so we take pills which are supposedly to magically absorb the carbs. We want to have the bodies of models and movie stars who #1 are often airbrushed in photos and #2 who have the time and money for personal trainers and personal chefs to keep them on track with exercise and dieting.
I exercise 1-2 hours at a time, three days a week. The last thing I am is lazy. But I'd still like my weight loss to be faster.
