Are there really any diet pills out there that work?
Question:
Answer:
Unfortunately, there are really no pills that cause weight loss. The pills that are out there that claim weight loss is not the best way to go as the things we eat go through the liver and its not a good idea to overload liver with pills and drugs. It is good that you are exercising, keep that up to maintain weight. As far as food is concerned, you really dont have to eliminate anything you just have to watch out for portions. I am not really sure what your normal food is like to give you specific suggestions, but I can give you examples and few tips
* Eat atleast three meals a day. You should get proteins,
carbohydrates, fruits and vegetables. Make sure you include
low fat dairy (milk, or yogurt)
* If you drink soda, try to switch to diet or just plain water. Fruit
juices also fall in the same category. Try to eat more fresh or
frozen fruits rather than canned fruit or fruit juices
* If you enjoy cookies, cakes, pies, ice creams etc. limit them to
one serving 2 times a week. serving size of ice cream is
half cup.
* Focus on whole grains for your carbohydrates, rather than
refined or processed foods. Ex. Use whole wheat bread in
place of white bread. The serving size of bread it 1 slice.
* If you have the habit of eating while watching TV, while bored.
try to stop doing that. Find something to do when bored
* When you get hungry in between meals, munch on vegetables
such as carrots, celery sticks etc so you wont be getting lot of
calories.
Hope this helps. and good luck losing weight. And remember to exercise for at least 45 min to an hour every day.
I easily lost 60 on trim spa
liquid diets are unhealthy and can cause all sorts of health problems. We all enjoy food, but if you take in more calories than you burn, you aren't going to lose weight. What most of the diet pills on the market do is curb appetite so you aren't as hungry, but they certainly don't do anything about your love for food. You need to stop living to eat, and instead eat just to live.
A liquid diet will make you ill & listless & when you start to eat again you'll gain it all & more back.. I've tried several diet pills & not one worked. Try some Lean Cuisines for a week & keep your food portions small. Take up some resistance training to increase your metabolism. That should give you the boost you need. I've heard of great successes with Weight Watchers too. Good Luck.
There are some *prescription* pills that work, but only for a couple of weeks. No one knows why, but they stop helping after a very short time, and basically they aren't worth bothering about.
As for the commercial pills, they don't work. Period. And think about it. If there really was a pill that could let you eat what you want and still lose weight, do you think they would have to advertise on cable? Of course not. Pills like that would be the number one story on the nightly news, they would be in all the papers, and you would see them for sale everywhere.
Unfortunately, there is probably no way around a diet program for you. But I think you might want to look into one of the diets that says *exactly* what to eat or not eat. You are one of the people who gets too many choices and then picks the wrong ones. So break out of your pattern. Find a diet plan with precise instructions (South Beach is one possibility). Or, even better, if you can afford it, use a diet where they give you the food. (You have to pay for it, of course). Jenny Craig is one of those plans, but there are others.
Good luck!!
Sudafed really works for curbing your appetite, even though it's mostly used for sinus infections or allergies. You have to buy the old-school kind though that they keep locked up behind the counter at Walgreens, Long's etc. The new formula that they sell on the floor doesn't have the same effect. Go to a pharmacist and ask for the old version of Sudafed. Take two a day and you won't be hungry. And your nose won't running either! :-P
No, I do not believe that liquid diets work, and what happens when you loose all that weight, and you stop taking the diet pills? most likely you will gain all that weight back. I would find another alternative.
Try a tape worm piggy.
There is a pill that you get by prescription that makes it impossible for your body to digest fat. Unfortuneatly it goes straight through you and you have to be near a bathroom because it happens unexpectedly and fast. As long as you eat a fat free diet you are ok. It costs about 100 bucks a month. It works.
I wouldn't recommend pills or a liquid diet. Do you weight train? Weight training 2-3 times/wk will increase the calories you burn during aerobic exercise by as much as 30%. Do you eat breakfast? Not eating breakfast will make your metabolism sluggish, making it harder to lose weight.

I'd highly recommend reading the books by Harvey Diamond, Oz Garcia and Udo Erasmus. You need to get the foundation of health in terms of knowing what food nourish the body, cleanse the body and what will keep you from being drastic about weightloss.
If you aren't exercising, forget it.
But if you can do quality cardio and have some body strength - I recommend Lipo-6, Instone Leanfire, Tetrazene TS-50 and Ephedra as strong weight loss enhancers. The idea is that you take a small dose during meal time, to boost the metabolism. Also, you take a dose for more intense physical activity. Moderation on those pills.
But most importantly, read the books. That will help you more than any quick fix.
Prescription diet pills are useful for severe obesity problems. These pills are regulated and their side effects are monitored. Some of these pills are Meridia (Sibutramine), Xenical (Orlistat), Adipex, Bontril, Didrex, Phentermine and Tenuate. Xenical is a lipase inhibitor, decreasing fat absorption by 30% resulting in a lower calorie intake. These pills will not be effective for losing weight , if a conventional weight loss plan is also not followed. Over the counter (OTC) diet pills are considered as food supplements, and their use is unregulated. However, these are very popular and people continue to use them without considering the adverse side effects. More information available at http://www.toloseweight.org/weightlosspi...
