How do I delete a website that a man who is selling diet pills has put my name on the home page?
Question:
Answer:
are you sure it is a direct reference to you?
it could be someone else with the same name.
but if they are using your identity, contact the owner of the site asking them to remove it, and if they dont, contact their hosting company, and they will happily remove it for you.
Unless you are confident that the name is a direct reference to you then you have little chance of getting it removed without some sort of legal action. The web hosting company gains revenue from the company they host, and they rarely filter the hosts content. If you feel that this is harming you then you need to contact an attorney, and they may be able to move some wheels.
You cannot delete someone else website.
Ask that person to remove your name from the site, in wiriting.
If he refuses, then you can sue him for violation of privacy.
:)
I am sure that there are many thousands of people in this world with the same name as yours.
If that is all you have to go on, I don't see where you would have any legal action or criminal action to take against the website.
You would have to prove that it was your name beyond a reasonable doubt.
You don't have any legal recourse.
If seeing your name on the website is annoying or makes you feel uncomfortable on an emotional level, stay off the site. (Out of sight, out of mind).
