Whats the best diet or diet pill that will help me lose weight?

Question:

Answer:
Advice, of course, is cheap. There are many weight loss fads with many persuasive metabolic reasons why they should be superior. However, they can't all be superior. Here are a few of my thoughts that I share with everyone that I am counseling to lose weight.

Exercize is important, but not nearly so important as reducing calorie intake. It takes a lot f exercize to burn a serving of fried potatoes or a candy bar. Plus, exercize often increases the appetite.

Begin your diet with calorie restriction alone. After a couple of weeks begin an exercize program slowly and increase it gradually. Avoid anaerobic exercize like lifting weights, push-ups, etc. Concentrate on aerobic exericize. Get your heart rate up to 140 and keep it there for 30 minutes without a break. (This of course, depends on getting clearance from your personal physician.) Remember, runners are skinny an weight-lifters are fat. Aerobic exercize can decrease appetite in many people. I know several people who have disciplined themselve to run for 30 minutes before every episode of caloric intake. Don't start that way, but phase into this sort of discipline after you have successfully seriously restricted your calories for at least a couple of weeks. You will fee less energetic. Expect that. You are losing weight. Push to exercize anyway after you've lost 10 to 15 pounds.

Take a multivitamin just to play it safe. You are unlikey to develop a vitamin deficiency in the U.S. but it won't hurt. Weight everything you eat. Measure servings accurately in all situations. Make this a matter of strict discipline. Write everything down and total your calories each time you eat. This not only shows you where you fall short, but it also gives you time to think and consider whether you REALLY want to eat something instead of just popping it in your mouth without thought. You'll mess up once in a while at first, but keep up the practice and you will develop discipline.

Once in a while, for sanity, or social reasons you are apt to cheat. Write it down, even though you see that it clearly exceeds your calorie goal for the day. If you must eat a fatty meal (any fried foods, meats, etc.) there is a drug that can help, called Xenical.

Xenical works by blocking the absorption of fats through the intestinal wall. Your stool (BM, feces) will contain much more fat. If you have a particulary fatty meal and take on of these capsules, you may find yourself needing to have a BM rather suddenly and may even have some leakage because of the increased fat in the stool. (Hey, it's the price you pay for cheating.)

Talk with our doctor about a balanced, calorie restricted diet, and any needed vitamins, especially fat-soluble vitamins. Your desired caloric intake will be somewhat based on your present size, your sex, etc. Avoid starches and sugars. They tend to increase insulin production in the pancreas and this also increases appetite and puts on the pounds. Don't take megadoses of fat-soluble vitamins. They can cause a variety of serious ailments.

So, but an exhaustive book for calorie-counting, a food scale, a notebook for your daily food intake (be honest!) and talk with your doctor about appropriate aerobic exercize, vitamins, and possibly Xenical.Good luck!

Mediterranean diet. The most healthy in the world! If you also excercise, you get the best results!
the best diet is eating a well balance diet and cutting out the junk Having a healthy diet is one of the most important things you can do to help your overall health. Along with physical activity, your diet is the key factor that affects your weight
eat a wide variety of foods
You should also try to maintain a balance between calorie intake and calorie expenditure
doesn't mean that you have to give up your favorite foods. As long as your overall diet is balanced and rich in nutrients and fiber, there is nothing wrong with an occasional cheeseburger. Just be sure to limit how frequently you eat such foods, and try to eat small portions of them.
fruits, vegetables, grains, and legumes—foods high in complex carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins, and minerals, low in fat, and free of cholesterol—should make up the bulk of the calories you consume. The rest should come from low-fat dairy products, lean meat and poultry, and fish.
Make sure to include green, orange, and yellow fruits and vegetables—such as broccoli, carrots, cantaloupe, and citrus fruits. The antioxidants and other nutrients in these foods may help protect against developing certain types of cancer and other diseases. Eat five or more servings a day.
Limit your intake of sugary foods, refined-grain products such as white bread, and salty snack foods.
Cut down on animal fat
Cut way down on trans fats
Eat more fish and nuts

the best diet is a way of life you must do a crash diet who at the end of the day make you put on weight more then you began with
i think diet pills are unhealthy, if you want to go on a "good" diet pill try a natrual one , herbal one
exercise & balance diet...
There are no magic pills or diets that will help you really lose weight and really keep it off. The best "diet" is to eat healthy and exercise frequently (2-3 days a week is sufficient). I eat what I want, but I eat in moderation and I exercise. I am 33 years old and get mistaken for a teenager or very early twenty year old frequently. I had to show my ID for an "R" rated movie recently! Be good to your body (inside and out) and it will be good to you (inside and out)!
Exercise and portion control is the answer...there are no magic pills.
phentermine
topamax. Its not a diet pill. Its a drug but can be prescribed for it. Talk to your doctor about it. Combine it with a low-fat eating plan and excercise.

I have been where you are, desparate to loose weight, to the point where I took a cocktail of diet pills to loose weight for 7 years. I can give you a list of pills that will work as long as you are taking them and that is the fundamental problem. With diet pills you loose a lot of weight and gain it all back ,and some more, till you find the next diet pill which will mess up your system permanently, we're talking kidney damage ect.
I hate exercise so I took diet pills and it worked for a while but it was not worth the side effects. One minute I’m thin the next I’m fat when I stop taking them. Because of my addiction to diet pills, for 7 years I suffered from severe headaches, nausea, vomiting, sweating, constant thirst, tachycardia, precordial pain, palpitations, muscular weakness and tremors, anxiety, restlessness, delusions, hallucinations and severe insomnia. One day I said no more and just went to the gym. I hate it but it was a far better alternative. I'm used to immediate results. However, my current weight loss has taken months. I have managed to keep the weight off; the difference is that it doesn't come back as fast. I can eat a burger and not feel guilty or fear weight gain, I control my appetite. I don't look anorexic I look fit. I have a chizzled stomach and definition in my thighs, no personal trainer just running, free weights and the ab-wheel and of courses my diet. I love food too so without fat trapping pills I have to watch what I eat. For five days a week I eat healthy, fruit in the morning, salad at lunch and fish and veggies at night and don't eat after 6, and drink as much water as I can, and I go to the gym five days a week and do light exercise on weekends. On weekends I can splurge a little but not excessively of course. Every month try and fast for 3 days to cleanse your system so you can excrete more waste and loose more weight. This is a lifetime solution and not a quick fix, try it, it works!
Go to the nearest big grocery store and buy those 200 calorie TV dinners, eat 3 meals a deal. Drink water or diet drinks and use the bathroom more often. HOW IT WORKS: An average female needs about 1600 calories a day and a male needs around 2000, the person will use 70% of the calorie intake for ie. breathing, walking, staying awake. If just say a male was to eat 3 of those TV dinners he would only take in 600 calories, now 600 - 70%(used thoughout the day) = 180 calories by the end of the night. Now his body will have to use the stored fat because he needs 2000 but he only took in 600 - 70% = 180. HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE: it takes 3500 calories to make 1 pound, so he will lose more than 1 pound in 2 days. ITS THAT EASY! What are u waiting for try it out, you can choose diffrent foods but these TV dinners are only 200 calories and 1 soda is about 160!
Lose weight with negative calorie foods

The foods, which utilize more calories to digest than the calorie foods in fact have, are known as negative calorie foods. It is harder for the body to consume calories from these negative calorie foods. I mean to say that our body has to work hard in order to take out calories from these foods. With this kind of food very small amount of calorie actually turn in to fat, as there is very small amount of calorie available.

You will get the maximum benefit of negative calorie foods when you take them alone without any junk food. There are large number of fruits and vegetables, which are having negative calorie results. Some of these foods are Raspberry, papaya, strawberry, zucchini, Carrot, Beets, and Asparagus.

Here is the complete listing of Negative calorie foods

First, for all of the "quick and easy" weight loss diet pill suggestions, remember, if something sounds too good to be true... it probably is, particularly if you have to pay for it. Here are some better ideas.

On Yahoo!Answers I find certain questions being asked repeatedly which is simply a reflection of new people participating. A couple of common questions amount to "How do I lose weight," or more specifically, "How do I lose abdominal fat?" I have gotten very positive responses from my answers when I paused to reply (and now beginning to get "It works!" emails that are very gratifying. I like helping people)... so have recently decided to put a good solid answer on my Yahoo!360 Blog (September 10) that I can point people to. These are my thoughts as a physician and athlete.

Don't target losing more than about 2 lbs per week. If you try to lose faster, your body will go into "starvation mode" and get very stingy about burning calories while at the same time very efficient about storing any calories that you do provide. And it will make you feel awful.

There is no site specific way of losing fat... the old myth about working your abs to burn belly fat isn't true. To get rid of love handles, you need to lose overall fat. That happens with exercise and watching your diet. More on that below.

The most effective way to lose fat is aerobic exercise in the "moderate" fat-burning range, ideally first thing in the morning before you eat. When you wake your body is ready to burn fat and your levels of growth hormone are highest at that time. Later in the day it can take up to 30 minutes just to put your body into a fat-burning mode.

Another overlooked way to burn fat is by lifting weights. Skeletal muscle has very high caloric needs... almost twice that of adipose (fat) tissue. Put on a little muscle and you will burn calories all day even at rest. Be aware that skeletal muscle weighs more, so with this approach you may see your weight increasing while your body fat is melting away. Not realizing this often stresses folks who think they should be losing weight as a measure of fitness. Forget the scale, look in the mirror and you will be happy.

To lose a pound of fat, you need to eliminate about 3500 calories. You can do this by burning more with exercise or by modifying your diet to reduce intake. If you do a Google search on say, "swimming calories" you will quickly find a website with tables of calories burned for a given exercise. You can use such lists to estimate how many calories you are burning up with your routine.

For diet, keep a diary for a couple of weeks counting calories, grams of protein, and grams of fat intake. It is easy with online sources of nutritional information (type the name of the food and calories into the Google search engine) and packaging labels. That will let you quickly figure out where the fat is coming from in your diet.

Fat gives you 9 calories per gram. So take the number of grams of fat, multiply by 9, then calculate what percentage the fat calories are of your total daily calories. Restricting the calories from fat to about 20% of your total intake is ideal for a maintenance diet... that isn't overly restrictive. Of note, you need some fat in your diet. For instance, the body uses fat to produce hormones. Once you have a picture of how to modify your diet, you can drop the diary and just go back to it occasionally if you are wanting to tweek things further.

There is a subset of questions that goes further and asks about "How to get a six-pack?" The answer is the same. Six-packs are 20% abdominal exercise and 80% diet. There is one caveat... abdominal muscles will form in the position that you work them, so be certain to pull them tightly toward your spine while doing crunches, etc. Also, during most lifting, the "core is active" which means that you should be stabilizing with contracted abs then too. Fail to do this and the abs will form, but bulging outward and the result is not attractive.

If you are trying to build muscle as a way to lose fat, then you may need to increase total calories and specifically your protein intake. I target about 0.8 g of protein per pound of body weight each day when actively building. That is far more protein than most people need in their diets.

Don’t go in for diet pills.Diet pills are widely advertised as a quick and easy way to lose weight , but most of them are not effective. Even the most natural weight loss pills can have side effects and harm your health. Some weight loss pills may help you lose weight for a short time, but after a month or so, the body becomes immune to them. More information on weight loss pills and their side effects at http://www.toloseweight.org/weightlosspi...
balanced diet with lots of greens and fiber and little sugar and exercise. Thats all. Anything else will have sideeffects.
