I have a Cocker Spaniel. He has skin problems. It is a white scalp. Can it be cure with special diet or pills?
Question:
Answer:
This problem could be allergies. They are common in Cocker Spaniels. Mine is allergic to 34 out of 63 pollens he was tested for. Take the dog to a vet. specialist in allergies and dermatology. You can try benadryl 12.5 mg childrens chewables are o.k. Give 2 tablets once or twice a day. It should stop any itching. You can also try changing the diet to a rabbit & potato or duck & potato available at Petco as it may just be a food allergy. Also try giving it omega 3 fatty acid capsules also available at pet stores.
well those are really delicate dogs u cant keep it outside in the sun cause it causes skin disordrs and i would take it to the vet.
well does ur dog look like it has dandruff. if yes then ur dog has a bry body. what we do with our german sheaperd is but vegtable oil in its food. i hope ur dog gets better
i think so
I have a weimeraner who had a host of different skin problems. It ended up he was allergic to chicken. This is a common allergy for dogs...try switching to lamb and rice formula food, or food for digestive/skin problems (Skylar eats Purina One Sensitive systems amd loves it)
Yes it could, some dogs get really bad skin problems by only eatting a certain kind of food.
cockers have ssooooo many skin problems. it could be anything from allergies, to a yeast infection or staph to what we call cocker crud. cocker crud is just clogged hair follicles common to cockers. but if you can afford it, take it to a canine dermatologist. there are few of them. ther'es only 1 here in st louis. but cockers have so many problems with ears getting infected and many many skin problems. it's hard to know what the problem is without testing
first get a vet check, then diet change and then a new bathing routine with special shampoo.
best wishes to you and your pup
