Why cant you take diet pills whilist on anti depressants?

Question:
I contacted a healthcare agency who advised me that they couldnt prescribe diet pills or appetite suppressant whilist on anti depressants.
Why?

Answer:
Hi,

It's not so simple. It depends what kind of pills you want to take. My wife was on depression pills and took Hoodia (it's natural and amazing for weight loss!). She dropped 20 pounds in a month and kept it off.

I bought the natural hoodia from this website: http://www.alllsite.info/free-diet-pills... . I check the web site address so I can post it here and I saw they're running a promotion now to get a free 2 week sample for only $4.97! I'm going to order this supply for my wife and give it to her for Christmas =)

Good luck and stay happy!
Why would you want to take diet pills? They are a quick solution to a long term problem ... if you choose a sensible eating plan (not a diet!) you will lose weight and feel better about yourself ... there is to much emphasis on weight these days which makes people feel down, look at yourself in the mirror and appreciate yourself for you, sod anyone else!
because they counteract each other. diet pills have the equivalent of speed in them which would just increase your depression. if you want to lose weight on anti depressants, try going for long walks not only will it burn calories, but it will also increase endorphins which help elevate your mood which is a good thing!
anti depressants work better on a stomach with food in it than with out food and appetite suppressant take away your appetite that would take away the effects of the anti depresents. You shouldn't take appetite sup.
Says who
Yes it's because they interact
Just buy some speed
Health care professionals just want to stop you having fun
Any Diet Pill will use a nerve suppressant which can make you depressed but if you are on anti drepressants already they could send you further down if the diet pill was stronger of the two and will reduce the effectiveness of the depressant to some degree!
A good reasen for anyone to think twice before using them.
There are better ways to lose weight and most would be adding to the stimulant that your anti depressants use making you feel better.
Try any exercise you like and start slowly learn to walk as fast as you can or take up swimming.
Because of the danger of 'serotonin syndrome',which can be fatal in some cases if not caught early enough, plus there is no way of predicting the likely-hood of it happening, which adds to the risk.
Did not have a problem with GNC - Ephedra and anti depressants. Along with exercise and changing some of my eating habits, I lost 10 pounds per month for 3 months in a row. (ephedra can only be taken for a short period). After a year on the anti-depressants, I realized that I could not lose weight no matter what I was doing (lots of exercise) but had no problem gaining weight fast. Keep in touch with your doctor and change your anti-depressants when you seem to begin to gain weight for no reason.
