Does anyone know of a good diet pill that actually works?

Question:

Answer:
I reccomend agood dose of EXERCISE!

Seriously no pill has the answer. And if it does work you will gain the wieght back when you stop taking them. Plus wieght loss pills are hard on the heart.
I don't know about diet pills, but I hear elbow locks work pretty good.
No there are no good diet pills. I've researched this via journal articles and through my schooling. The only way for weight loss is decreasing calories either by exercising more or eating less.
diet and exercise
diet pills r a no no.

Howabout u start going for a morning walk befre work everyday?

soon u will become good and healthier and losing weight and u can turn it into a morning jog.
Take music with u, make it fun

Goodluck Hun!!!!!!:)
DIET!
AND!
EXERCISE!
I don't know if it works or not? I don't need it... but I heard that the one that Carmen Electra is endorsing is actually good for your skin nails and hair as well as being rather effective on weight loss and apetite control?

Just make sure that if you take anything with Hoodia in it that you drink Butt loads of water... It can cause your throat to close without adequate fluid intake!

Carmen Electras pill is called NV. Try it! If it's good for you anyway what can it hurt? I don't know of any others that make that claim? I don't know where you get it though. I have only seen it in magazines and on Telly...
If you only want to lose 20lbs then all you have to do is exercise and change some of your eatting habbits..

I would take a water pill to help so you don't bloat a little but other wise if that is all the weight you want to lose don't bother with a diet pill most of them are harmful to your kidneys and heart..
about a good 95 percent of the answers up here are against pill usage. in short, these pills only take away your water retention. and you will lack nutrition in the long run. how much vitamins and minerals can diet pills contain? are you going to live on a meal of pills?
Hi, the problem with diet pills---and with diets---is that the body adapts quickly and resists losing weight. Eating more protein helps by stimulating a hormone that reduces hunger. Carbohydrates stimulate hunger biochemically.

Regarding drugs, Wellbutrin is more effective than Meridia or Xenical (and these are both expensive, and insurance doesn't cover them and they doen;t work very well) and it is very well known as a succesfull drug that works for a lot of people with not many side effects. A combination of wellbutrin and another drug (zonisamide) is being developed by Orexigen in San Diego. Both drugs are already being used as therapeutics and it turns out that when taken together in the right dose, etc. it is VERY effective for weight loss, and it looks like it will be an OK drug to take in terms of not having bad side effects. Why is a combination good? Becasue when you lose weight, the body has multiple ways of sensing this and interprets that the dieter is "starving" and starts turning up the appitite to make sure the dieter doesn't starve. This reaction is biochemical and it doesn't matter if the person weighs 110 lbs or 310 lbs. The combination of the two drugs is because the first drug stimulates the biochemistry so we are not hungry and the second one keeps it from being shut down when the body senses we are losing weight.

A totally new drug has been approved in Europe (rimonabant) but I think it has some seriously bad side effects and the FDA has delayed approving here, probably with good reason.

Byetta is a new drug from last year for diabetics that has been successful for people to lose weight if they are diabetic, but it is an injectable, and I have read that it gets old having to inject it everyday. Merck just released an oral drug that is similar, but it does not have the weightloss effect, apparently.

Relacore and corti-slim, etc. I think are probably false advertising, also Hoodia, is probably fake.

Caffeine is OK - but be careful about drinking soft drinks sweetened with high fructose corn syrup. Fructose is metabolized in the body is a way that does not register calories-- you still feel hungry and thirsty--and if you have extra weight on you, you are insulin resistant, your body will respond biochemically by wanting more. This can lead to overeating calories really fast.

If your body has extra fat, it wants to add more, biochemically. If you have fat, your body wants you to make more fat. It is the way human beings are engineered. Once you are overweight, your body wants you to get fatter. It is a survival mechanism left over from the Ice Ages and caveman days when there was not much food around, and sending it to fat was the best way to keep it.

Most important thing is not to gain weight any more weight. If you do, get it off immediately. Prevention is the best way to deal with the extra weight problem.

One last thought...Splenda is supposed to be no calories and and no carbohydrates, but there is a trick in how they count it.
A Splenda packett has a speck of sucralose (it is 600 times sweeter than sugar), and the fillers are dextrose and maltodextrose (sugar and sugar). they (McNeil J&J) keep the packet under 1/2 a gram, and then the goverment says it can be rounded down to zero. It is not zero. 2 packets are not zero.

It is false advertising. The food industry (and the government) isn't helping us.

Sorry for the long reply, but it is one of my favorite subjects.
