I'm not over weight but i\m on diet, how do diet pills work and when is it good to use? what side effects? thx
Question:
Answer:
Diet pills don't work, period. If you look on the bottles you can see they say, "When combined with diet and exercise." Diet and exercise alone will get you to lose weight, so you don't even need them.
Anyway, basically all they are is caffeine. Loads of caffeine. That doesn't help you lose weight, unless you're going ot take the energy or the buzz they give you and go work out for a few hours.
Also, if you're anorexic or have an eating disorder and you take diet pills, you could be in for a world of hurt! I took diet pills, not even the ephedra ones, while I was anorexic and ended up having a heart attack. And I was only 24. So be careful
If you aren't over weight...Why are you dieting?
There are a number of diet pills out there. You need to do alot of research before taking any type of diet pill not monitored by your Doctor. Some diet pills can be lethal.
Diet pills usually work by having ephedra(banned by the FDA) or caffeine as their main ingredient. The purpose of these ingredients is to speed up your heart rate, making your body burn calories faster. In my personal opinion, diet pills are NEVER good to use. Side affects include death, heart attack, addiction, "crashing" after the energy rush and permanent uncontrollable shaking. Stop with the pills. If you want to lose weight, just do it the old fashioned way with a healthy diet and exercise. Not only will you lose weight but you'll look and feel like a million bucks! I recommend the low carb lifestyle. I've posted a great information site below. You can lose weight by eating real food. Good luck!
diet pills are are just a way to part you with your hard earned cash. notice how they always say to be used alongside a healthy diet and exercise. so when you start losing weight you atribute it to the diet pills when its actually to do with your change in iet and exercise. its a total con. dont deny yourself tasty food either, you can eat it in moderation, just dont go overboard. :)
Do not take diet pills if ur thin.they have very bad effects on health. It decreases ur appetite.and a message for fat ones also do not take diet pills unless suggested by a doctor.
If you've watched dieting programs that test diets out, you'll be amazed to know that some diets don't work with certian body structures and matabalisms.Without being strict and no exercise, there's always the yo-yo effect. In your first week you lose water and muscle, the second week you pick up and the weight only really starts from week3.It's frustrating and hard work to keep it off in the long run when you return to your normal eating habits.Thats why every diet comes with a eating plan and exercise...
There are two prescription medications commonly in use. One acts by blocking fat absorption (Meridia). You must also be careful not to eat too much fat at a meal, because excessive fat intake +this medication = diarrhea. It is thought that one reason this medication helps people lose weight is by training them not to eat too much fat or they will suffer the consequences.
The other type of medication is an appetite suppressant. It is in the same category as amphetamines. Some risk of cardiovascular complications, high blood pressure, etc. Unless you are classified as obese, with some "co-morbidities" (other medical problems caused by your weight), your doctor is unlikely to prescribe this.
If you are craving carbohydrate-type foods (starches and sugars), a non-prescription nutritional supplement that helps regulate your glucose metabolism can be helpful. This approach also is generally without serious side effects if following dosage directions. An example is "CraveEase" . If you go to www.supplementwatch.com you can look up their writeup of a number of similar supplements. It is a non-biased site, rather like "consumer reports" for nutritional supplements. Increasing your level of physical activity will also help decrease cravings.
If you're not really over weight, I suggest you try weight watchers. Being on a diet should not be about forbidding yourself from eating food you enjoy, but eating it in proportion and weight watchers will teach you that. Just stay away from diet pills. They are not good for you.
DO not ever try any pills. Don't mess with your health. Diet pills can affect your heart and do some serious damage.
The moviestar diet is a scam. All these diets that sound too good to be true...ARE to good to be true. There is no good diet if it says it is fast. You gain it all back and double. Be wise please.
