Diet pill experiences?

Question:
I can't get motivated to exercise, for one thing my knees are shot, I eat fairly well, maybe too much occasionally. I have been thinking of trying Leptopril or something like that. Has anybody had good or bad experiences? If so what were you taking? I am in good health except for the weight, I am 54 years old, 5'10" and 285 lbs.Thanks.

Answer:
Before trying the almighty diet pills why not try this. Eat 5 or 6 times a day small portions and drink lots of water. When you eat several small meals a day instead of 2 or 3 large ones you body lets go of the fat its storing. You will lose weight this way. make sure in the morning you mix protein with fruit,
3 hours later protein with more fruit,
3 hours later protein with starch(potatoe or white rice)and vegtables,
3 hours later protein with vegtables and rice or potatoes
3 hours later protein with starch and vegtables and
3 hours after that a snack of some more fruit. Drint about 80 to 100 ounces of water a day or as much as possible. Can be coffee or tea but try not to drink soda because even diet can be bad.
When eating your protein only eat about 3 ounces each time and one small potatoe or one half cup rice and lots of vegtables. This really works and really no exercise is nessesary although I would reccomend it because it keeps things more in shape as you lose weight. Try this for a week and it will work. You will be suprised. My husband and I did it a few years ago and when he got discouraged after a few days I told him to weigh himself. He had lost 10 pounds in four days. You will lose more the first week and then it will settle down to about two pounds a week. Give it a try. It can't hurt. If it doesn't work you can go back to those expensive diet pills you want to try. Good Luck and Good Health.
they dont work!!! note at the end of every comercial it says "with diet and excersise...." this is key, they're just marketing.
Try phentermine. You can get it online. It really works. I have tried the others and they do not work so well. Different websites have different prices, so check a few before you buy!
Ive tried them and all i was able to do was to maintain.
and i think i was mostly able to becuase i worked out 3 to 4 times a week.so yea...
Hello, let me recommend you this article:

I have struggled with my body my entire life so I really hate to be one to have to tell you this, but short of surgery, the only thing that works is exercise and proper nutrition. It does not take marathon gym workouts or starvation/deprivation "diets," but there is no pill out there that "really" works.

I DESPISE exercise (have bad knees, back, and elbows) and think diet is worst 4 letter word there is. I am a 5'10" tall woman and weighed 250lbs. I had my stomach stapled 18 years ago. I got down to 121lbs. at one point by walking (2 miles, 3-4x/week), using 5lb. hand weights, and making better food choices. Nothing strenuous or radical.

At my height I couldn't maintain 121lbs. and I eventually plateaued at 140lbs. but have had some major problems over the last couple of years and I let my good habits go right out the window. Now I'm at 160lbs. and am about to get back with the program.

I am as lazy as it gets and I tried every pill on the market in the 80s and 90s. All I ever got was jittery and cotton mouthed. They truly only work to put money in the manufacturers' pockets, but don't take my word for it.

Do a Google search on all the latest brand names and you'll get a ton of information. Believe me, as soon as this latest "new" batch of pills (Zantrex, Leptopril, Cortisol, TrimSpa, etc.) came out, I started running them down just in case there might have been a breakthrough. No dice.

The problem is, there is WAY too much money in keeping people in the "trying to lose weight" cycle. Too many industries and bigwigs benefit from sick, fat people. Even if the "magic diet pill" was ever discovered, the big pharmaceutical, insurance, medical, and weight loss/fitness industries would never let it out commercially.

If you do decide to try changing your lifestyle, this seems to be a good system, customized to your body and metabolic type. I am planning to start it along with NutriSystem after I move next year:
