I can not stress enough that this is a question that must be asked of a medical practitioner. I find it highly unlikely that the same doctor that RX'd Toprol XL would also perscribe, recommend, or condone the use of a diet drug.

TOPROL-XL is used to treat high blood pressure, angina pectoris over the long term, and heart failure.
