Diet pills question. 10 points for best answer?
Question:
Answer:
There are many many many fad diets and pills out there that claim to be the ultimate easy answer.Don't believe the hype!
There is NO easy way to lose weight. You didn't get over-weight in a week,so you're not going to lose the pounds in a week either!
The ONLY way to safely lose weight is through common sense diet and exercise!
That's diet AND exercise. Not one or the other, but BOTH!
If there really was an easy way to slim down then we'd all have awesome bodies, and the guy who found out how to do it would be very rich!
Stay away from the pills. They're not safe, and your money would be better spent elsewhere.
Diet pills are dangerous and the side effects may be disastrous. Stay away from them.
I hate sounding like a "know-it-all" but here's the easy lesson:
1. Body needs constant feeding to be tricked into burning calories (loosing weight). If you don't feed it enough, skip meals or simply starve, your body gets tricked into thinking it's gonna die if it doesn't save calories (making you fat).
2. The easiest and cheapest way to manage step 1 is: eating many times a day (about every 3 hours) but in small portions. Eating lots of protein and as little carbs as possible will make you feel less hungry and more energetic. Eat lots of fiber too, so you don't become constipated and hence moody and tired. Stay away frome eating refined sugars and white flour. Drink a multivitamin everyday and that's it.
Slim fast is great but there's one draw back: one day you'll have to go back to eating regularly and it becomes quite pricey. The cheapest and easiest way around it is: make your own smoothies with fresh fruit, low fat milk and protein powder (15 for about 50 servings at walmart). You'll get all the benefits of fresh dairy and fruit and less fat and more protein than with Slimfast, PLUS it's something you will enjoy and will satisfy you more because of the fiber in fruits.
Eating meat with veggies is healthy, just make sure that you eat an unlimited amount of green leaf veggies, that way you'll flush out toxins quicker. If you eat this way you won't feel hungry, stressed and moody, which is the number one symptom when you're on any starving diet.
Make sure you eat often, but in small portions, but NEVER EVER EVER starve, since doing that will basically work against you. If you're ever hungry eat veggies. (just green leaf, NO DRESSING). If you MUST eat dressing, buy it with the least calories, fat and sodium possible. (rule of thumb: buy one that's really expensive, so your subconsious will try to ration it for you).
Whole Wheat bread is GREAT for you. Not just "brown bread", since it's the same as white bread, just with 25 percent refined "brown flour"... Whole wheat bread is good, tastes good and it's still bread. (If you love bread like I do, you'll understand).
Cookies, candy, cake, crutons, cokes. fine. Just try to eat them very sparingly (100 calorie packs of cookies, lifesaver candies, lollypops, and diet cokes are still naugty, but at least you won't feel as guilty when you're done). Just remember that once you've gotten to your ideal weight, you'll feel so good Candy won't be such a big deal. (Matter of fact, try drinking a whole can of coke with no ice after you haven't had any for a month and you'll be disgusted, seriously.)
The next is just common sense:
Coffe bad, Tea good. Sugar bad, Stevia good. (GNC. 0 calories, 0 carbs, 0 guilt sweetner. You'll see how much sugar you really eat when you start reading labels. This is the best substitute). Meat good, Protein powder 1000% easier to prepare and 100% faster, not to mention about 80% cheaper. lol. Drink lots of water. Carry a water bottle with you and drink it. Walk with a couple of water bottles in your backpack. Go dancing and drink water instead of alcoholic drinks (that's where a lot of people's bellies come from. lol) Water makes your body happy.
Muscle mass is what burns calories, so keep doing your cardio (aerobics, bycicle, running, walking) but you must take the time to do some weights, since they're what really burns calories to begin with. If you can't afford a gym (god, who can?) just do pushups, pilates or yoga at home. (DON'T BE AFRAID!).
Get yourself a portable grill (about 20-30 bucks). Cook your meat this way so you don't add fats to it. Grilled meat tastes great. Add wild rice, or a salad. meal in 15 minutes.
Slim fast would be great if you never had to eat real food, never had to go to a restaurant, never got invited to eat at your family's table and had a fridge for a backpack. Real people eat and they eat well. Just stay away from the white devil (sugar) and hidden fat-makers like white rice, potatoes, cheese, soft drinks, fried foods, chips... and you'll be fine.
You will loose amazing amounts of weight on the first couple of weeks following my instructions, so if anything, at least try it. It's not expensive, and it's a real way of eating healthy. If you must realy on a lucky charm, such as a diet pill, try one with hoodia... but what hoodia does is keep you from getting hungry, which you won't really need if you eat right and may make you skip meals which is BAD. So just be careful and make sure you eat right! (now you know what that means. lol) Good Luck loosing those 10 pounds. I'm sure you'll do it quick!
this a very grey subject!
the best solution for this (it may not be the easist) to to look at you diet and reasses what you eat and when, thats my advice.
as far as dieting goes there are lots of products out in the bodybuilding scene which help strip fat as in contest preperation
but these are taken under strict dieat so may not work as well as they claim.

I started using Arbonne's Figure 8 Going going gone supplements and protein shakes a few weeks ago and have lost 5 lbs so far. I exercise 3 X a week and the supplements help with the cravings so I eat less. I love the protein shakes - chai latte is my fav! There is a lot of info on gofigure8.com on the system. It really does help with weight loss, but there is no majic pill. Let me know if you have any questions.
Also, I do not believe in a "diet"! It is a lifestyle change. You have to change your habits to change your curves.
There is no "magic" diet pill. You won't find a good diet pill in your grocery store, however, you will find fresh fruits, veggies and plenty of bottled water. If you are only 10 pounds overweight, eating right (no fast food) and moderate exercise will allow you to lose weight. Also, I found drinking water (never tap water) all day helps. Since I started eating all organic (an occasional regular food now and then) drinking water and walking on my treadmill, I lost 35 pounds. You should never take pills of any kind unless prescribed by your Doctor for a life threatening reason.
