Is there any type of diet pill that actually works?

I was wondering if there is a pill that might help to speed up your metabolism? I know in general pills don't work, but are there any that might help? i need to lose 20 lbs and my diet and exercise is moving sooooo slowly!

Ok..I think I know just where you are with this. And although everyone here is correct and pills are not the proper way to take off weight, sometimes we're just looking for that boost. (I recently went on vacation in Punta Cana and needed a bit if help myself, and I have been a fitness trainer for MANY years.) If you feel you must go with some chemical help here is my experience..Metabolife, Hydroxycut, Xenadrine etc will all boost your metabolism and with regular workouts will peel off the pounds faster, however, all the metabolic boosters make you jittery, crazy in the head and completely destroy your apetite. Slim Fast, Herb A Life etc..will wreck your body's digestive process if used for prolonged periods and you WILL gain the weight back when you stop using the products. The one product that I've personally found to work without jittery side effects or complete loss of appetite is Smart Burn. Now, I've read others on here who say it doesn't work and it has not so much Hoodia and some fillers..It worked beautifully for me! And, several of my family members as well as memebers at my gym. From what I understand 100% natural Hoodia is the best way to go, however, I have not actually tried that yet. Other than pills to spark your weight loss, you could also try mixing up your workouts. Do something differant every day, at differant times of the day. Eat at the same times every day, and drink lots of Green Tea. Good Luck and Be Careful!!
Diet pills will make you lose weight, but that weight will be water weight. They use a combination of diuretics (caffeine or other stimulents) to make your body pass water quickly. This causes dehydration and that jittery feeling. So basically, you will weigh less on the scale, but you won't look any different and you will feel like &%$#.

Stay away from diet pills and concentrate on diet and exercise. It's the only way.
Hydroxycut but suffer the consequences, make sure you do cardio 30 mins a day and weight train each body part as well as watching what you eat.
To lose weight and keep it off you need to change your lifestyle not find some magic pill. Stick at the diet and exercise and make it a lifetime commitment. Good luck.
Im having the same problem. Granted, I need to lose much more than 20lbs...(actually, right now im only aiming for 10lbs) ..
**Drinking water helps me curb my appitite...if thats what you need. Also, they say that if you constantly sip water throughout the day, it will keep your metabolism going...your body has to work to process the water-but theres no calories/nothing in the water

when i was about 14 (I was only about 5lbs overweight...it was silly for me to want to loose more)... i tried a lot of different diet pills/fat burners...nothing worked.

Recently, i tried one of the hoodia products (i think it was just Hoodia..im not sure, my aunt bought it for me..and i gave it back to her as it did nto do anything for me but give me headachs)

Also, not more than a week ago, i tried SLIMQUICK. DO NOT TRY SLIMQUICK!. I got the night time one b/c it had no stimulants like caffeine in it. and my best friend got the daytime one b/c she seems to think she NEEDS caffeine. Both of us started on the same day, and within 3 days of taking it...our stomachs were KILLING US! My doctor actually suggested going out and buying this stuff that enduces vomiting in order to get the slimquick out of our systems.

Now, quite honestly, i'm scared to try anything else. The pain that my stomach was in was unbelievable...something i've never felt and i cant even describe the way it felt. I felt like the slimquick pills were eating holes through my stomach...

Whatever you do, be careful. Maybe you can try something natural, like green tea. Green tea has antioxidants in it that are good for your body, and some people suggest that it could be a help when trying to loose weight. Also, yogurt. They say that yogurt has some kind of fat burning enzyme in it or something (im not sure its been totally proven, but its good for you anyways..so its worth a shot.)
No if there was no one would have a problem with weight right. Diet pills have a very bad affect on your body, there really hard on it to. If you want to do it right and healthy just watch what you eat, for a women 1200 - 1500 calories a day men 1500 - 1900 a day. Exercise 3 times a week, try to do some strength training the more muscle you have the faster your metabolism is. Good luck.
No diet pills don't work because they make you lose water weight but not fat. I would reccomend a weight training plan by joyce vedral; she has great books that help you lose weight ang get hard fast!
