I've been researching hoodia diet pills for the past year and I'll try to give you the straight facts and answers to your question, does hoodia work?
The short answer is yes and no. Hoodia gordonii is a cactus-like plant that is found only in the Kalahari Desert of South Africa. It has been used for centuries by the San tribe to stave off hunger during long hunting trips. They would cut a small piece of the plant, peel it, and then eat it. Just a small piece would curb their appetite for hours.
So the RAW form of hoodia gordonii has been proven to be very effective. Since hoodia gordonii is now an endangered plant and their are tight restrictions on the exportation of it from South Africa, you will not find (despite what some will have you believe) raw hoodia gordonii anywhere.
You can only find it in powder form in hoodia diet pills and other products and in liquid form. The question is, does hoodia work, in supplement form? Well, the evidence is mixed but it seems more likely than not that they are effective.
There have only been a few studies done on the effectiveness of hoodia diet pills but they have been very promising. Most of the evidence we have on hoodia diet pills is anecdotal and that evidence is mixed. Some dieters swear by them and others say they are worthless.
Keep in mind that all hoodia gordonii does is suppress appetite. It does not burn fat, increase metabolism, or "magically" melt the weight away. It contains a molecule that tricks your brain into thinking it is full. So unless you suffer from intense hunger all the time, hoodia diet pills won't do much for you.
If you decide to give them a try, just be sure you take only real hoodia diet pills since most on the market today contain very little, if any, hoodia gordonii. You'll also want to make sure you take enough of hoodia gordonii everyday as it can take as much as 3,000mg per day for it to work.

Best of luck to you.

Yes I have and no they don't
No I have not and I will not. For one it is not regulated by the FDA, therefore may not be safe. It has caused severe liver and kidney damage, to the point where a transplant is needed.
