Is there anything bad about taking diet or weight loss pills?

Question:

Answer:
Yes. Diet pills mess up your metabolism. The best way to increase your metabolism on a daily basis and in the long run, is to do daily excercise.
You can lose weight without pills! ( *v* )
Yeah. - they don't work and you'll end up putting all the weight you lost, back on.
yep because once you want to get off the pills you'll gain all the weight back.
Anything with Synephrine in it (which is similar to Ephedra) is a bad idea, since it's thought to cause heart damage.
Other than that, headaches, jitters and insomnia are all common side effects.
Yes. Many are not FDA approved which means that no studies have been done to ensure that they are safe for you to consume. There are plenty of other ways to lose weight, maybe try that first. Example - eat healthy and exercise.
Yes and no.
I have heard that sometimes they work for some people, but not others. Some of the chemcals in the pills and/or the diet company don't really react well to your body system, so sometimes you can become very sick or develope some disease.

Now if you go on a diet with less eating and more excersising there are no side effects to that. That is the best way to loose weight!
I think its ok...If you really want to!! im sure everything will work out and everyone will love you for who you are..STAY STRONG!
yes they dont work and they mess up your bodys system and can permanatly damange yooh body.i tried those b 4 and they dont work and everytime i used them i ended up n the hospital not to metion they hurt muh stomach and made meh more hungry.but lemme tell yooh the best piece of advise anyone ever gave meh buh keeping this in mind i lost 20lbs like it was nothing..the key to loosing weight is burning more then yooh take in.its that easy.i dont excersise i didnt starve myself all i did was remeber that and i lost the weight easily and another thing to remember is its kindov mind over matter if yooh dont feel fat yooh dont stress about it witch also helps yooh to lose weight so convince youself your thin already!!
Weight loss is big in the U.S. but you did not take pills to get that way just stop eating when you start to fill full and no in between snacks and eat healthier...
yes some can be bad read the lable...the side effects..sometimes end in death.read trim spa.
if you want to lose weight bad enough to risk your overall health by taking diet pills, that will more than likely not work anyways.try a better idea..eat healthy food and stay moderately active!! that will work better. to help increase weight loss, try natural herbs and vitamins, etc. to help such as fish oil. do some research. most ppl who use those silly diet pills are just to lazy to get up and move...and if the pills actually help them lose a few pounds they either gain them back, or they keep them off because they were also DIETING AND EXERCISING. sorry there isnt an easier way.
There are many bad things about diet and weight loss pills. First of all, the FDA doesn't have much power over how these supplements are made. Since weight loss supplements aren't meant to diagnose or cure a disease, they're "exempt" from the FDA's stringent policies. Second, most of these supplements contain toxic levels of ingredients such as chromium picolinate, a popular ingredient of almost all weight loss supplements. While lots of research is being done in this field, the results of studies of whether chromium is an effective weight-loss aid is controversial and debatable. Also, it is widely believed that since chromium is a free radical, it can cause DNA damage, resulting in malignant cell division. Third, if you take the recommended daily dose of these pills, you'll be ingesting a lot of stimulants, mostly mu huang (similar to ephedrine) and caffeine. Finally, why would anyone think that these supplements will just miraculously burn off the fat. The idea that you can somehow lose fat without actually working at it doesn't make much logical sense, no matter what "doctor" endorses it. Your best bet would be to start a cardiovascular exercise program along with some weight training.
Hi despite all the rubbish being written above most weight loss pills are absolutely safe if used corrrectly. Make sure you use one thats got a good reputation and has support that comes with it, if losing some pounds of any description and inches is what you want then I would suggest you use a diet that is all natural and is rich in protein and vitamins, which is what the FDA recommends. I used a protein based diet after a friend who had lost a lot of weight with this recommended it to me. All the way through you feel great and energized, you also get great coaching and support along the way. The people are very friendly and gave me lots of great advice. I needed to lose 40 pounds and I did so with no problems. The products really work and you feel great whilst losing weight. I lost all my weight in less than four months and they have helped me to keep it off. I would definitely recommend using them. My sister did this also and lost 76 pounds in five months (She works out, I don’t). There is no pressure and they will even send you a load of free samples so you can try before you buy. The samples were the thing that initially convinced me that this was the right diet for me. You also a get a free complete health consultation with the samples, I just paid the postage and handling, but for what I got it was well worth it. You just go to www.myhealthabc.com to register your details to get the free samples and the free advice etc and then they just call you up and ask you a few questions. It was so easy. Their main site is www.myhealthabcmall.com and you can see all the products and packages and order from their. Its nice to have contact with real people who care about you losing weight and improving your health. I am in better health now than I have ever been thanks to these products and I know that I will continue to keep the weight off with the help I have received. I hope this helps.
