Diet pills?
Question:
Answer:
A new anti-obesity pill that has been shown to not only help lose weight and quit smoking could also be effective in helping people stop drug and alcohol addiction, scientists claim.
Acomplia, or rimonabant, is an experimental drug developed by the French pharmaceutical firm Sanofi-Aventis primarily as a diet pill, but the drug works differently that most diet pills in that it blocks the brain's reward system.
It works by blocking the connection between a pleasure-seeking activity, like smoking or overeating, and the reward "feeling" it causes in the brain. The human body contains endocannabinoids, marijuana-like substances that can stimulate the brain's reward system. I tried Phentermine and it really did nothing at all after the first week. Hopefully someone will answer who has had better luck but my advice is to save your money on the Phentermine.
There is only one FDA approved pill to help you to lose weight. It's called Zenecal, and how it works is to not let your body absorb fats, they are excreted (in the usual way.)
I tried it once, but it really just gave me diareah if I ate too much butter or something. They don't make REAL diet pills anymore, they decided they were too dangerous. All the stuff you see advertised is bogus, and does not work. I'm afraid the only way to lose weight is to comsume less calories than you normally burn off every day, whichever way you want to do that. I just have cut down on everything except healthly, nourishing foods, and keep the portions small.
Good luck, I wish there were still "magic" pills available like the amphetamines my doctor used to give me a long time ago.
