Is there any way to get a diet pill, if you are under the age of 18?
Question:
Answer:
Do NOT take diet pills! They are dangerous!!
Last year I was visiting my parents and took diet pills on top on my exercise routine and normal diet. I was 26 at the time, 5'11, 180 lbs. By week three I was sick. I had diarrhea, dry heaves, dizziness, headaches, and a general feeling of being sick. I thought I had caught the flu or something. I had lost 13 lbs in 4 days. One morning I told my mom I didn't feel good. My vision kept blacking out and I felt (for lack of a better way to say it) stoned. Later that afternoon I was walking from the bathroom to my bedroom (a 5 foot walk) and I passed out. I was rushed to the hospital emergency where they did a bunch of tests on me.
My pulse was up to 120, My blood pressure was 150/40, they had to start me on an IV, the did an EKG on me, took blood and urine samples, and a whole barrage of other tests.
They finally got me stabilized and said that I was dehydrated and malnutritioned. I told him that I took diet pills. When I mentioned diet pill, the doctors face lit up and said that's why. He said they can cause a whole bunch of health problems, including death. He told me to toss the diet pills or next time I might not be so lucky.
I was kept in the hospital for almost 10 hours, given 3 or 4 IVs, potassium, juices, and monitored (by the EKG, blood pressure, and heart rate machines) every 15 minutes.
Please take my story as a warning. If you seriously want to loose weight there are better ways (I know because I've lost weight after this)
The quickest way to lose weight is to cut out red meats, starches, breads, sugars, alcohol, and sodas.
Eat veggies (salads are good), soups, and drink TONS of water. If you get hungry between a meal, drink water to fill up.
In moderation eat white meats, and fruits (fruits contain natural sugars, and that can put on weight)
Practice portion control. Yes, you'll feel hungry at first, but think of your goal, and soon your stomach will start shrinking and you won't have that feeling anymore.
Eat 5 times a day. A small breakfast. A mid-morning snack, such as an apple. A small lunch. A mid-afternoon snack, such as carrots. A lite dinner. Do not eat any later than 7pm (6pm is better.)
Go exercise for at least an hour - two a day, incorporating weight training along with your cardio. Cardio helps to melt the fat, while weight training builds muscle. Muscle burns fat, even when you are resting. You get the idea. It also gives tone and definition. Also do a few yoga and pilates exercises to help tone those hard to reach and stubborn areas.
Maybe asking your parents to get it for you.
go the safer and healthier way for your body. to many side effects to these and in the end can damage you from your heart to your kidneys..

um ya you can go to wal*wart but mass majority of diet pills are just sugar pills basically, meaning they are bul$hit and dont work...if you want to lose weight jus walk like 30-45 min a day, that will increase your metabolism
You don't need a diet pill - just eat less, and exercise more.
Well, have your parents do it for you.
But if you end up wanted one that isn't an over the counter diet pill, just walk into walmart and get it.
Instead of using a diet pill though, you should try "Shapely Secrets." You can just look it up on google and go to their site. I have it and you lose like an inch or more each week by doing this 7 minute workout. Its awesome! Then you won't have to use pills.
cant you just go to walmart?
how old are you? if you are like way under 18, then you may not want to do that. you could hurt your organs and such. but i would say, if you are 16+, and you already have your period, then you can go ahead. although, i am not a nurse or anything.
try different vitamins and stuff. some of them can help you to burn more calories, and they are healthier than diet pills.
just go to the pharmacy part of the store, and start looking at all the viatmins and minerals.
If you're under 18 you probably shouldn't be taking diet pills. If your weight is that much of an issue however than talk to your parents about what options you have. Diet pills often have very serious side effects on adults, and they have not been tested thoroughly on children. Last thing you want is to be on this site asking what the symptoms of a stroke or heart attack is because you think your having one.
Why take a pill when you can eat healthy and exercise?
Why don't you join a gym instead and talk to a trainer on what you would like to focus on and s/he will help you out?
There reallly is no need to take pills, it all really depends on how much work you want to put into being fit.
All that diet pill stuff is crap. Eat a healthy balanced diet 5-6 times a day consisting of around 300 calories for each meal. drink lots of water lay off the sodas(diet or not) . Eat fresh fruits and veggies lay off the sweets , white bread, starchy foods, and All FRIED FOODS! You follow that and you will by fine. Normal healthy weight loss should only be 1-2 lbs a week. Save your money and just eat healthy and excercise. Trust me I have been doing this since january and have lost 30 lbs and feel great and don't feel like I am starving all the time and I don't have the jitters or anxiousness from the contents in the diet pills (stimulants) to control my appetite.
Megan, sweetie, diet pills don't work. Oh, they may cause a few pounds of weight loss by water loss, or making you gas up and feel full (which is very uncomfortable). How overweight are you? Or are you just getting teased over a few vanity pounds by some self obsessed, narcissistic teenagers who get off from hurting people's feelings? If you are truly overweight, or obese, the first thing to do is see your family doctor. They can make recommendations for weight loss based on your health and psychological history. They can give you a script, or recommend surgical procedures which will help you. And if unruly teens are the cause for all your woes, just look forward to your 10 year reunion where you will see they are way fat, and huge losers with NO life!!
Great post! I totally understand how you feel. I'm also trying to lose weight and I found this great product which is working for me. You can check the website at
http://www.hyperl.info , I had a free trial and paid less than 7.00$ shipping and handling. Best of luck!
Ask your parents and doctor if that is advisable, there is a reason they don't want people under 18 using diet pills.
