Why my diet pills no longer work on me?

Question:
im a 43 year old woman, and i wiegh 190 pounds i use to be 232. for a year and half ive been taking phentermine diet pills. at first for about a year i lost wieght real good, but now im stuck on 190, why.

Answer:
Because your calorie intake is still the same and so is your exercise level.
your body may have become resistant to the pills, thus making them less effective or not effective at all.
Stop taking them!! They are super bad for you they could kill you or damage your liver if your lucky. Just eat right and exercise you don't need them. It is really simple, don't be lazy just eat right and exercise you will be much healthier and feel better.
because you stopped exercising. Diet pills don't do a damn thing unless you get off your butt and exercise. Congrats on getting down to 190. Don't give up. Just quit relying on a pill and start relying on will power.
Congrats on losing so much weight!
Are you still on the same diet? Are you exercising? You are stuck at what they call a plateau, so you have to 'tweak' something.
Do you know how many calories you need to eat per day to reach your goal weight?
If you are already exercising, exercise more frequently, or exercise longer at each session.
Add weight training - tones, builds muscle [ which burns up more calories than fat ].

It helped me set up a plan to eat right and exercise. I lost 12lbs in a few months the healthy way and now I am keeping it off. You have to just be ready to change your life style if you want to loose weight.

Do your body a favor and throw out those diet pills.
You are probalby experiencing a plateau. You need to vary your exercise routine. Also, your body can become acustomed to the drug and not respond as well after a period of time. You should talk to your Dr. about it and see if he can increase your dose or switch drugs for awhile.
I thought phentermine was banned like ephedra. Diet pills worked up to a certain level. You need to incorporate that with diet and exercise. You lose fat when you have caloric deficit.

Do you workout? You have to burn calories to lose fat. You need to tone your muscles. Do it slowly if you haven't done any and progress after 2-3 weeks.

Healthy fat loss is 1-2/week (1pounds is 3500 calories)

If you workout you hit a plateau. Your body has adapted to your routines. You have to modify your workout (every 3-4 weeks) and adjust your diet.

Don't try to lose more than 2 pounds/wk. You'll get loose skin and you're likely to gain it back.

Browse around and you'll get lots of info about exercise and diet plans. They have workout videos, animations, food/recipes, exercise journal/plan,etc.

This is where I get my routines and I lost a lot of fat.
Yes, you are experiencing a plateau. The only way to really bust through it is to exercise and change the types of food you eat. I hope you haven't just eaten less junk food with the help of Phentermine. Phentermine should be used to make it easy to switch from eating bad foods to eating only good foods, rather than only eating bad foods, but starving yourself.
