i actually just asked the same question as you, and people said they dont recommend taking them cause they are bad for your health, and make your heart beat faster. so i wanderd the same question as you. im trying to lose weight by this summer to
you have to really be careful of those diet pills now. I was reading on the net this morning how they are finding more & more diet pills do more harm than good.
I would suggest talking to your Dr. and have him recomend one that is not harmful to your health. he may also give you a diet to follow and some excercizes that will help with the weight loss.
Stay away from diet pills, they tend to make one jumpy and raise blood pressue. Drink lots of water. I lost 10lbs in a month just by staying away from soft drinks and not eating past 6pm. If you loose too quickly, you will put double the weight on once you go off. I tried the free 1 week on line offer from weight watchers and it helped and I'm still loosing.

Your answer does not lie in the bottles of diet pills on store shelves. The answer lies in the proven method of eating right and working out that so many people before you have lost weight on.
honestly, it depends on what level you are at. What kind of results are you looking for? What are your eating habits? what are your activity habits? If you are looking to lose more than 10 pounds in a month diet pills are not the answer. Almost all of them report an average of less than 10 pounds in 4 weeks. The commercials and infomercials where they show these people losing 30-40 pounds in 6-8 weeks are merely marketing gimmiks. Sure these people may lose that weight, but in tiny letters at the bottom of the TV, it always says "results not typical" or that the results seen can only be achieved with a strict diet and exercise plan.
There are really none that I fully endorse, but the ones that may be of benefit are slimquick, alli, hydroxycut.
Please be aware that ALL supplement carry potential side effects. Some of these effects can be things such as rapid heart beat, diarrhea, dehydration, and even more serious stroke, heart attacks and death.
Supplements containing ephedra or ma-huang should be totally avoided because the potential side effects are more prevalent. If you decide to take anything, it should be exactly according to the directions, always starting with the smaller dosage and if any ill effects start happening they should be stopped.
Oh I also forgot to mention, caffeine consumption has to be very low when taking the pills because most have a lot of caffeine as an active ingredient
Sorry so long :-)
