Alli Diet Pill... does it work?

Question:
Yeah... I'm just curious (hint my nickname "Curious Mofo") is Alli a reliable diet pill? Your answers could save me a lot of time on GOOGLE! Much thanks!

Answer:
eeeew! DO NOT take that!! unless you dont care about anal leakage and sharting!

You also may lose control of your bowels and poo your pants. Is it really worth it? I am on weight watchers and have lost 17 pounds!!!! which puts me at 136 lbs. My goal is 120...not too far away
Might be too early to ask people, because it was only recently released- probably haven't had all that much time to see how well it works yet. I am curious, too...
Yeah, it's pretty much too early to tell. You may have to ask Xenical users how well it worked, since it's a similar.
Alli is the first over the counter diet pill that was approved by the FDA. It has the same active component (Orlistat) as the prescription drug Xenical, but the dose of Alli is only 50% of Xenical. Xenical is on the market for years. To be able to register a drug by the FDA, you need to prove efficacy and safety be several studies. So, Alli is safe. The dose is reduced due to some side effects. Alli if used with a low fat diet could prevent the side effects.

The Alli pill will not work for most because most people can't stay on the low-fat portion controlled diet it requires. However, it will work for some.
For one, Xenical hasn't lived up to its promise; some doctors have found it to offer marginal benefit in clinical practice. At half the prescription strength, Alli is likely to be even less effective. Data presented to the FDA suggest that Alli works best in those who are very overweight, that it must be used in conjunction with a low-fat, reduced-calorie diet, and that results are modest. In clinical trials, severely overweight subjects who took the drug for six months lost about 5 pounds more than those taking a placebo. In a separate four-month trial, moderately overweight people lost about 2 1/2 pounds more than the control group. Benefits are also likely to be short-lived. Alli is marketed for short-term use only, and follow-up suggests that people start to regain weight once they stop taking it.

Guys and gals, this is bascially an expensive version of chitosan fiber, a fat absorbing fiber
Why not save money and get a superior product for about half the cost
Fat Attack has chitosan fiber and chromium (to help with blood sugar levels) and also garcinia cambogia (a built in appetite suppressent) I get it here http://www.superfitnutrition.com/product...
Good luck!
Alli certainly is getting a lot of attention! See if this information helps a bit:

Good luck!
I took Xenical for about 2 weeks before Alli was released and lost 4 pounds then lost an additional 2 with Alli. I have only been taking Alli for 7 days but expect to see similar results in the next few months. I have changed my eating habits and reduced my calorie and fat intake to about 1100 calories a day and 30 grams a fat or less per day. I am also following the Biggest Loser Cookbook for great ideas for low-cal, low fat recipes. I have had 2 babies in 3 years so I have a lot of "baby weight" to lose and a lot of tummy. I started off at 186 and now down to 180. It seems to be working better all together with a low calorie, low fat diet, exercise and Alli.
Hi, I started taking Alli on 6/18 and have no "treatment effects." I have been eating a low-fat, low-calorie diet as well. I have also been walking on the treadmill 4 times this week for 30 minutes at a time. When I weighed myself the week before I started taking Alli, I was 222 lbs. (5'6", 28 years old); today when I weighed myself, I was 216 lbs. I think that those who are having the "treatment effects" aren't necessarily following the low-fat diet and that's why they are having the "accidents." I hope this answers your question.
It does work to a limited extent.

Most of the fat that you have on now, is not from consumed fat, but refined carbohydrates.

Your chances of getting the embarrassing side effects is about 1 in 3. About the same as getting real bad headaches with this pill (which no one seems to be talking about).

Is Alli (orlistat) a "reliable diet pill" - presuming you are asking if it will damage your health in some way or shape. Who knows? There have been many medication, approved by FDA on the market for decades until we found out they cause some sort of a horrid ailment.

Hopefully it is, because I see it fly off the shelves like candy at a carnival.
I like this quote from oprah

"If there is a true diet pill I would be talking about it right now,"

I don't think diet pills are the way to go.
