Alli diet pills -- how bad is the leakage and bathroom usage?

Question:
If anyone out there is on Alli or used to be on it, can you let me know what it was like? Thanks

Answer:
Look basically the people who are giving alli a bad rap are people who honestly have no clue... sorry to point out the obvious but if you do what the pill bottle says and keep your fat intake low you won't be exploding in the bathroom. If you decide hey, great Its time for a huge piece of cheesecake and you gets the explosive craps thats not the pills fault.

Diet is important and working out helps. To the people who are doing this and losing weight good job :) To those of you who have no clue , why even post- you simply don't know.

I've had quite a few clients who have been impressed with alli and have had no problems as they are using it correctly. If you however expect this to miraculously cure a weight problem and you can eat anything you'd like- don't take this pill. Its not going to help you and you'll probably have some bad side effects.

I hope this help shed some more light on what alli and how it works. Also to mention on someones point that said alli helps lose 1 lb to every 10 you lose. its actually about 2 lbs extra to every 5.
Varies with each person, and each person's consumption of fat.
Any leakage is "bad" Do not use a weight loss product that is going to make you spontaniously crap yourself in public. Alli does this. Go to the Alli web page , it says so...right there. Lose weight properly through diet and exerscise.
I have been on it for about a week and have spent $125 on toilet paper and have missed 4 days of work and have ruined 3 pairs of pants. Anything else you want to know??
Go to their home page! THEY suggest wearing dark clothes and taking a change of clothing to work.
It is bad. It is bad enough that I tell anyone who thinks of it, to never take it.

Think about it - the *additional* loss you do with Alli is 5 to 10% more... So if you lost 10 lbs, that is an extra 1 lb.. For taking a pill at every meal, $50 a month, and the embarrassment.

It is extremely embarrassing.

Think about going to a date, eating a lovely meal and within an hour or so you need to change your underwear.

Additionally, what no one seems to be talking about the headaches. According to the research papers 1 in 3 gets them really bad.
I take them, have been for about 2 weeks now. At first, I had to go to the bathroom several times a day but then it leveled out. There was no "leakage"... but if you feel the urge to go, you better go... I take them 3 or 4 or sometimes 5 times a day. I can tell a noticeable different in weight loss. Of course I am watching what I wat and try to cut down on the fatty intake. I eat meat, fish, eggs, banana's, etc. I think every person is different. Good luck to you.
I dont think Xavier is actually joking. Why? Well they had a 5 minute presentation on Alli on CNN the other day and the reporter actually said that the little booklet that comes with Alli informs the user to take a change of clothes with him/her due to the discharge the pill causes him/her to have. The reporter went on saying that it causes you to sweat profusely and then something about a jelly or fat discharge when you go to the bathroom. Seriously.

Also it should be noted that even though Alli has been approved by the FDA and the sales have reached the clouds, it is not scientifically proven to help you lose a significant amount of weight. Jokingly the reporter said "It seems Americans are willing to do anything to lose weight except to give up food"
I took Xenical for about 2 weeks before Alli was released and lost 4 pounds then lost an additional 2 with Alli. I have only been taking Alli for 7 days but expect to see similar results in the next few months. I have changed my eating habits and reduced my calorie and fat intake to about 1100 calories a day and 30 grams a fat or less per day. I am also following the Biggest Loser Cookbook for great ideas for low-cal, low fat recipes. I have had 2 babies in 3 years so I have a lot of "baby weight" to lose and a lot of tummy. I started off at 186 and now down to 180. It seems to be working better all together with a low calorie, low fat diet, exercise and Alli. Now the answer to your question. If you eat meals that are high in fat, you will get an urgency to go NOW and you can get oily leaks when you pass gas. If you stick to a diet and lay off the igh fatty foods. You will not get this. You will however see the fat deposited in your normal bathroom use whenever you choose to go. I have been following the recipes from above and only had one "issue" when I had 2 pieces of pizza at my daughter's b-day party and the next morning I had an extreme urgency to use the bathroom. If you are committed to a low calorie, low fat diet, you shouldn't have any problems. They suggest less than 15mg of fat per meal. That to me is actually high if you are following any kind of low fat recipes. if you go to McDonald's and woof down a Big Mac then you will get these negative effects but don't worry about it if you stick to a good diet. Hope this helps.
I was really nervous about all of the bowel problems they were talking about but I have not had any problems at all. In fact I feel like I am going less. I am being very careful of my fat intake. I do know that it is working (here is too much info!!) because when I do go I can see oil droplets that come to the surface of the water. I have had NO side effect from Alli other than that! I take the pills as directed usually, twice I have double dosed with still no urgency!!
You wont have "treatment effects" if you keep your fat intake low so it's nothing to worry about really. I have been using them for 5 days and haven't seen any change. I decided to test it and ate fast food. it had 108 grams of fat (you're supposed to keep it under 15 grams)!! Before and after that I have been keeping my fat and calories really low. There were no treatment effects even after that meal but from what I have read about other peoples reactions to the pill I should have been in the bathroom for days. Maybe my body isn't as sensitive... I am going to finish my pack but I don't know if Alli is for me.
My co-worker is having that issue because he hasnt changed his diet but my mom who has changed her diet immensely has lost 7 lbs and hasnt had any problems. Follow the plan and you should be alright. Its designed to help you stay away from fatty foods...
i am trying this product and so far i am not impressed i don't think it is cut out to what it is made out too be. but u can be the judge for ur self
Well If people would tread the directions...they wouldn't have problems. It says only eat 15 grams of fat per meal or do not take the pill. If you exceed that then, yes you will have some problems. I have been on it for almost a week and have had no problems with it and have lost weight.
I've been taking alli, and basically, it is your own damned fault if you're getting the leakage and loose bowels. I have had NO side effects so far.

If it tells you all this about the pill, and you're STILL eating crap you're obviously not supposed to be eating, then maybe you deserve to **** yourself in public for not following the directions on the drugs you're taking.

For anyone thinking about it, don't just go out and buy the bottle. Buy the starter kit! It is great. Flatout. Tells you what your BMI is, and how many calories and fat grams you can have per day.

For example, I normally eat probably anywhere from 2000cal+ per day. If I didn't read about alli, I probably would crap myself like an idiot. BUT. I read up on it first, and found out I need to eat about 1200cals and can only have 39g of fat per day, only 12g per meal.

It tells you have you don't eat so much fat, you won't have the side effects.

So basically all it takes is the ability to read and some common sense, and POOF. No droopy poopy. :)

If you're not dedicated to loosing weight, then don't buy alli. That simple.
I have been on it a few days and haven't had serious problems. The reading say you should start working on eating low fat before you even start the Alli. I had been working on cutting out a lot fat two weeks ago. The most issue I felt was I had a little gas after breakfast. I guess from the 2%milk with my cereal. Nothing major, but there was spotting. Panty Liner and soy milk may help with that.
I did see oil in the commode. The information in the starter pack was very useful.

I noticed I get dry mouth as well mostly at night. During the day I keep water with me. I looked on the Alli website and found others saying the same issue, but the information does not incude that as a side effect.
Actually I have been taking Alli for a week and really havent had any trouble like that. It does says in the pamphlet that if you consume fat products it could cause oily stools etc. I have side effects to EVERYTHING, and this besides the oily stool I have had no problem. Everyone is different. I still have some fat in my diet even though I try to cut it out its hard to take it all out. I havent had much problem with a little fat. I could see it causing a problem if you sit down and eat a greasy pizza or something. It says to commit to Alli, you have to work with it. No pill is going to do it all for you. I guess in my mind that would be a self punishment if I knew I ate all the wrong things and was going to spend all that time in the bathroom paying for it. Anyway, I have lost 4 lbs. So I am sticking with it, if leakage is ever a issue I would throw it away. Good Luck!
I have been using Alli for three days and I have had absolutely no problems. That being said, I eat a low fat healthy diet (I have already lost 80 lbs, I am just trying to kick start my body into losing the last 20 or so).
I have been using Alli for 4 days as well and haven't had any problems at all. I didn't even notice an increase in gas or stool. That being said - I typically eat a low fat/low calorie diet anyways. But my husband has been on it since Friday too, and he ate a meal higher in fat than recommended and he didn't have any side effects. (It was about 22 grams of fat where they say don't go over 15). Good luck!!
hi...i have been reading all of the alli posts.i have not tried alli..nor will i .my common sense tells me that if i follow just the diet and exercise they tell you to follow ..i'll lose weight without even taking the expensive pill..the diet is a very low-fat diet in the first place.on the pill you will lose a very small amount of that very small fat intake...so what's the point? to me it's like all the other overwieght remedies..they all say to change eating habits and exercise along with the pill.then do you really need the pill? think about it...
About 2 years ago a co-worker of mine was prescribed Orlistat when it was still only available in the prescription form Xenical. Two days after she started taking it she had an accident at work. It was so so bad that it actually soiled through her pants and onto her seat. Luckily another coworker had some clean gym pants in her car that she lent to her, but she was so embarrassed that she ended up leaving for the day. I think she stayed on them anyway, but she resigned about a month after so I never got to find out if they worked or not. Personally I never thought she was that big that she would need prescription meds. Nothing that a little extra exercise and careful eating couldn't fix. Personally I'd just stick to plain old diet and exercise. The side effects aren't worth it.
i haven't taken the pills, but am thinking about it. seems like pretty good motivation if you ask me. if i know im going to crap my pants later im sure as heck not going to eat those fries!
guys if your goin to eat only 15 grams a day in fat you dont need the pills of course you will lose weight if you have less fat in your diet just make small changes to your diet and walk an hour a day and take your time stop trying to lose 20 pounds in one weeks thats what makes diets crash
its bad when u eat more than 15 g of fat/ meal but otherwise u dont have any 'leakage' problems. just remember to keep it on a low cal diet!! and if u feel any other symptoms like sluggishness or loss of energy i suggest stop taking it.
