Does the new diet pill Alli really work?

Question:

Answer:
Yes, alli does work.
Yes, alli can have unpleasant side effects (you will notice that I said can have, not will have)

With alli you will lose approximately 50% more weight than dieting alone. That's a good chunk of weight loss. Now you have to weigh the excellent weight loss potential against the possible side effects to see if alli is for you.

While you are using alli you have to keep to a strict low fat diet. This means that each meal should contain 15 grams or less of fat. This would mean that you would have to give up greasy burgers and fries, fried food in general, designer high fat ice cream, most cakes (unless you didn't eat the frosting), high fat cookies and extra cheesy pizza.

You can still have the low fat versions. The new fat free ice creams are pretty good, you can also have ice pops, frozen ices, breads, pasta, vegetables, any low fat or non-fat dairy products, fruit, green salads. There are many food that you can still have. The big reason why people are having problems is that they have been use to a low carb diet (which is high fat) and they are still trying to do low carb while using alli.

Again with alli you go low fat, not low carb.

You have to decide whether changing to a low fat diet is something that you can do. Personally I find it much easier than going on a low carb diet.

It's good to try a low fat diet for a few days before going on alli to get use to the foods. This will also get rid of any fat that you may have in your digestive system. A low fat diet is healthy for you anyway.

If you can go low fat and stay low fat while on alli then you'll like it, but if you have a tendency to cheat on high fat foods you will more than likely get the side effects that everyone had been addresssing here/
anything can work if you eat right and do a little work out
Yes, it works that same way as that old prescription pill that was out 10 years ago, but I forget the name of it. Anyway, what is does is not process some of the fat that you eat. It goes directly through your system and can cause oily diarrhea and uncontrolled oily discharge. They suggest you take extra clothing with you when you go out. (or I guess you could wear Depends). NOT FOR ME!!!
I don't know, people usually say don't take pills do it the healthy way but people need a little help so I started taking it today, along with diet and exercise I hope to see some results.

added: and for all those people saying you need to invest in depends, if you follow the directions provided then you wont have the nasty side effects
Oily spotting
Gas with discharge
Fecal urgency
Fatty or oily stools
Frequent bowel movements

Here are a list of side effects, straight from the companies website. Sounds fun doesnt it?
This was somebody's review:
It’s called alli (note the way trendy lower case!) and I use the term “new” loosely because it’s apparently a lower strength version of a prescription-only drug (Xenical) that’s been around for a while.

So what does this incredibly popular wonder drug do? Well, not to go all Bill Clinton on you, but it depends on what your definition of “do” is. You see, there’s (1)what the drug company markets it as, (2)the medical description of what it does and (3)the biggest effect you’re actually going to notice.

The drug company markets it as a weight loss pill. They say it will give “safe, effective weight loss”. Because it’s FDA approved it must be good. What could possibly go wrong?

A simplified medical description of the drug is that it’s a fat blocker. It stops your body from absorbing some of the fat in your diet. It doesn’t burn calories. But fat that would have otherwise been absorbed by your body… isn’t. Because fat contains calories less calories will go into your body.

But here’s the most important thing the drug does: it makes you **** oil. Worse, it makes you **** your pants. With oil. This is not the ravings of some fringe conspiracy group, this is what the company tells you itself on its website. Buy our drug if you want to lose weight. Oh, by the way, you’ll end up shitting your pants.

.. so ya..
Yes, but be sure and buy some Dpends because you will need them
No one said losing weight was fun. Some people are so desperate to lose that weight that they will go through that misery of being in the bathroom all the time.

Different things work for different people. Diet and exercise really DOESN'T work for some people.

Diet and exercise DOES work for me, but I do know people who can diet and exercise till the cows come home and they don't lose.

Our bodies are all different. Everybody and every body is different. Remember that. While something might work for Joe, it didn't work for Jane. Her body chemistry didn't work with that drug, that diet, or that form of exercise.

Just keep trying new things, and see what works for you.

I wish anyone who reads this luck in their weight loss fight. You can do it, I know its hard, but the benefits are well worth the work.
I tried it and it was a mess. All I had for breakfast was fruit and half of a bran muffin. By 2pm I had to leave work early because of an "accident". I want to lose weight really bad but this has encouraged me to exercise instead.
i have been using the diet pill for a day and a half. So far no side effects (knock on wood) It states in the books that the starter kit provides you that if you stay under 15 fat grams per meal the side effects are unlikely. It kind of helps keep on track with the diet knowing that if you do eat the fatty food what the consequences "might" be.
