Can diet pills harm a 16 year old teenager?
Question:
Answer:
u should speak to a doctor first
hmmm im 16 too and i wouldnt mind trying the pills although i doubt im overweight enough (i only need to loose about 7-10lbs). I think it just depends on wether your doctor thinks they're suitable.
Just about all diet pills/supplements can not be purchased by anyone under 18. Therefore mostly likely the is yes.
YES! All diet pills are harmful to your metabolism and your body in the long run. They can also cause short-term problems including: shakiness, eye-sight problems, and depression. Especially being sixteen this is NOT a wise choice for you. If you want to lose weight, do it the healthy way: exercise and eating well.
You better not use them. It's your life, but you need to take care of it. I hope you make the right choice. I'm sixteen and want to lose some weight, too, but pills are just too dangerous. People our age die from them all of the time!

yeah.
Yes they can! These products are made for adults with adult doses of certain diet chemicals.I call diet pills legal speed.Alot of these pills rev up your metabolism and speed your heart up.These pills are dangerous for adults so please do not take these pills.
Diet pills can harm ANYONE. Espically those whose bodies arent yet fully developed.
I'm 20 years old and was always completely against diet pills. My aunt was taking them for a while, she didnt lose any weight ... people all around me were taking them. I always refused because I'm very concerned when it comes to different chemicals being put in my body (I wont even drink diet soda/drinks or use splenda or any of that stuff).
I'm so frusteraited with my weight though. For various reasons (bad expierence with doctors and depression medication) I gained 70lbs from the time I was 12-18 years old becuase of medications I was on (Maybe thats why I'm so paranoied about the chemicals)...
I was working so hard, my eating habits are wonderful - most of what I eat are fruits/veggies.i gave in and took diet pills. I wasnt getting hungry mainly because i was sick to my stomach! After about 2 weeks I stopped taking the pills and threw them away.
If your looking for something to curb your appitite try sipping water throughout the day. It curbs the appitite AND keeps your metabolism going - and if your using a clean water source, theres no harmful chemicals in it. If the water gets boring you could add a small squeese of fresh lemmon (not too much though as the acid from the lemon is strong and not good for your teeth etc...)
But back to your question? Yes. Diet pills can harm a 16 year old teenager.
Other than Alli (the only fda approved and clinically proven diet pill so far) the only substances which will actually help you to lose weight are not officially diet pills. They are egcg, capsaicin, large amounts of calcium (really!), and monounsaturated fat. They don't do much too help you loose weight faster, but if you take them faithfully, you will have a lower final weight. Let me explain. A person who eats only 1,950 calories a day and is relatively active should weigh about 130plbs. If a diet pill is somehow able to cancel out 300 calories a day, than they will eventually weigh twenty plbs. less without dieting at all, but they will lose it very, very slowly. Try a green tea pill with 90mg of green tea and a small amount of caffeine, 3xs daily. Plus 600mg calcium 3 xs daily, and a capsicin pill (I'm not sure exactly how much capsaicin is necessary, but any pill will contain plenty) Also eat about 1 tbs. of olive oil a day in your food.
