Answer:
The ingredients in most diet pills contain stimulants, such as caffeine, which vasoconstrict the blood vessels - which means it makes your blood vessels smaller so it's more difficult for blood to circulate. This causes the blood pressure to increase, which puts a strain on the heart. Also, diet pills usually contain diuretics, which causes diarrhea and can dehydrate the body. Most diet pills are also not approved by the FDA, so the long-term effects of a new diet pill may not be known yet.
They are dangerous because they may take out more then just what is not needed. They take out vitamens, minreals, ect. I would not suggest them.
they're way addictive..and people overdose on them. Plus they alot of side effects..

It's probably easier and a lot healthier just to diet and exercise..
Just think about it, some kind of pill to make you lose weight. ? It just seems dangerous. Cause like you drink it and suddenly you lose weight.
There are diseases where the patient loses weight quickly, and they have something to do with hormonal balance. You do not hear much about them because the person either quickly dies or quickly gets into treatment.

Any pill invented will simulate one of those diseases. It was discovered there are risky side effects, both short term and long term. Proof of this would be too technical, but there is indirect proof.

Many people are overweight, and want to be thin. They are not willing to diet or exercise. Pharmacy industry has tried unsuccessfully to cater to this group, as there is so much profit to be made. A few years ago, a pill was approved for weight loss, but it was withdrawn because there was an increased incidence of strokes and heart attacks. Research continues in this area.

There are a few pills in a doctor’s arsenal, but with dangerous known side effects. Doctors prefer not to use them. The patient may get an operation where part of the stomach is removed.

Some doctors do not favor research in this area. Any pill cannot work alone, but it would have to be used in combination with changes in eating habits and in the daily routine (meaning more exercise). Too many people would be unwilling to make changes, and would expect the pill to solve all problems.

Finally, there are pills sold without prescription that supposedly help lose weight. I tried one brand. The pill by itself was supposed to help me lose weight. By the publicity, I would expect the pill to make chemical changes that would either burn fat or not let it accumulate in the first place. Wrong. The pills were basically caffeine. I was supposed to eat less, and the pills would stimulate me. Since I would not feel tired, I would supposedly not overeat, not have snacks between meals. They were wrong for me because my problem is that I am unwilling to cut my food intake. At present, I eat enough to keep my weight, and it does not increase. To lose weight, I would have to eat less than what my body needs, possibly also exercise. Pills would not help me in this area. I hear there are appetite suppressants, but friends tell me they do not work.
anything that alters your body's natural chemical balances can be potentially harmful. That's why drugs have so many side effects. Your body fights to keep its self healthy by attacking anything foreign.
