Do diet pills actually work?
Question:
Answer:
Yes. But only temporarily.
I was on NV.Not because I actually believed that they could actually make you prettier (god broke the mole with me lol j/k)
But because It actually contained things that I was looking for (hoodia, appetite suppressants etc.) But then after a week it stopped working completely..Waist of time and money!
But If you follow the same diet plan they tell you to use without taking the pills, you'll loose the weight just the same.
there are so many side affects.
just get some exercise

There are several diet pills that can contribute to weight loss. Most work by acting as an antioxidant or boosting your metabolism so you'll burn more calories all day long. Common ingredients are caffeine, green tea extract, and hoodia. When coupled with a well balanced, healthy diet, these can be very useful in helping you reach your weightloss goals.
Some may help with weight loss, but they aren't good for you. Some contain caffeine and can become addictive. People have become dependent on diet pills. The only thing diet pills are good for is sucking your hard-earned money out of your pocket. What good results you get as a result of taking diet pills for an extended period, you could get from an extra week or two of good nutrition and exercise.
If you're trying to lose weight, you can figure out how many calories you should eat per day by finding a formula online. You should eat 5 times per day of small meals that contain a lean protein (chicken, turkey, fish, lean red meat) and a fibrous carbohydrate (veggies: broccoli, green beans, etc). Whole grains and whole wheat breads and pastas. Avoid sugar! And of course at least 30 minutes of moderate to vigorous cardio at least 3-6 times a week. The best time to do cardio is in the morning before you eat (called "Fasted Cardio"). This causes your body to tap into stored fat cells for energy rather than using the carbs and calories you ate that day. But, as long as you do the cardio, you will have the benefits. And weight training is very important too.
Look for Tony Venuto's BFFM program. VERY VALUABLE!
My field is in fashion, as a result many people ask me how they can slim down. My answer is always the same: good diet and exercise. But I found this great product which I think helps a lot in the process. I recommend you check this website

Many years ago, amphetamines were prescribed as diet pills. They definitely work (by suppressing appetite). Unless you have a pretty shady doctor, you can't get these for that purpose any more.
There is a new diet pill called "Alli" which is reputed to work by reducing absorption of fat, but the side-effects are nasty because all that unabsorbed fat has to go somewhere. (The maker recommends carrying extra pants until you get used to the effects.)
None of the other over-the-counter pills work. Think about it: if any of them really worked, it would be common knowledge - everyone would know about it. As it is, the only people who claim those pills work are the people who profit from their sales.
Other than Alli (the only fda approved diet pill so far) the only substances which will actually help you to lose weight are not officially diet pills. They are egcg, capsaicin, large amounts of calcium (really!), and monounsaturated fat. They don't do much too help you loose weight faster, but if you take them faithfully, you will have a lower final weight. Let me explain. A person who eats 2,100 calories a day and is relatively active should weigh about 140plbs. If these pills are able to cancel out 450 calories a day, than they will eventually weigh thirty plbs less without dieting at all, but they will lose it very, very, very slowly. Try a green tea pill with 90mg of green tea and a small amount of caffeine, 3xs daily. Plus 600mg calcium 3 xs daily, and a capsicin pill (no one is sure yet exactly how much capsaicin is necessary, but any pill will contain plenty) Also eat about 1 tbs. of olive oil a day in your food. All of these pills bought at the same time, are still less expensive than most diet pills.
