Are diet pills bad for you?
Question:
they gave me heart palpitations. yes they can be harmful
Some have so much caffeine in them they will make your heart race. Other will have a nasty side effect of diarrhea. I do not recommend them but others might. I think it depends on the individual whether they will actually work.
Well, there are a lot of things to consider when looking for a diet supplement. Not all are bad for you, but it's a pretty safe bet that you should stay away from anything that has stimulants in them, unless you've specifically been reccomended these by a doctor or other healthcare professional. The most common ones you'll see in diet pills are: Guarana, caffeine (can be from guarana, green tea, or other sources), synephrine (or citrus aurantium), and some still have ephedrine in them. Your best bet would be to get something that says on the label "stimulant free".
Supplements that usually don't have stimulants are Hoodia, which suppresses the appetite, and CLA which can help the body's conversion of fat into lean muscle. There are a bunch out there, but you should be able to find these at just about any health food store. If you ever have any other health questions you can get free wellness consultations at www.in-sighthealth.com. They can answer most questions.
Good Luck!
