How about not buying twinkies and not letting your kid play video games all day? Diet pills are such a cop out. Diet pills just make you think you are doing the right thing. Teach the kid while they are young it'a lifestyle that they have to stick to, like brushing your teeth in the morning.

Good god! What kind of lesson would that be? It he kid is fat, put him/her on a diet and make them stick to it. they are at an age that fat cells mulitiply like mad. If you do not do something about it NOW, your poor child will have a battle their entire life. Where have you been?

Maybe they do help u lose weight but without exercise u gain it back and maybe even more.
If u want ur kids to lose weight, feed them fruits, vegetables, fish, tofu and make them exercise, send them outside to play more often or make them start sports like soccer, basketball, tennis or swimming!
Diet pills are not good even for adults let alone children, you do lose weight but once you'll stop taking them you'll put all the weight back on plus more and also they can damage your liver. Why don't you try to cook some healthy foods instead if you go to google.com you can find loads of recipes and encourage her to take part is some sports or maybe some dancing lessons they are fun and help her lose weight.

GET HER SWIMMING, DOING LITTLE WEIGHTS, TAKE WALKS WITH HER(YOUR TIME TO CHAT WITH HER), only buy fruits and vegetables for snacks(not chips, pop, or candy. or other with fat in them) celery with peanut butter, grapes, oranges, apples, whatever is in season. and eat with your kids dont just have "them" eat it, you eat it too. dont just "sit' and watch tv, be active 'with" your kids. OUR KIDS LOOK AT US(PARENTS) TO SEE WHAT WE EAT AND WHAT WE DO, THEY MIMIC US, THEY WANT TO BE US. GIVE WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT NOT PILLS:: EXERCISE AND EATING FRUITS AND VEGETABLES. GOOD LUCK.
Diet pills are dangerous, especially for such age. Best thing is sports. And less sugar (because it stops fat burning for several hours even in case you take only a small amount, a candy). Also less cakes, breads, creams, fatty cheese.

NO way avoid totally. If you want to lose some weight just increase activity to one hour a day of walking, cycling and running. Reduce junk food, increase water intake to 2-3 litres a day and increase vegies and have two pieces of fruit a day.
