Diet pills are not the answer. Typically they have caffeine, in one form of its metabolites or another, to make you feel full. While you make think this is a miracle, it deprives your body of water, thus making it retain water, and because most people mistake thirst for hunger, they end up eating more. The other person who answered this question mentioned slim-fast shakes for breakfast and lunch and a small dinner with no snacks. I agree that meal replacement shakes are excellent, your body needs more than that to keep itself running properly. So my recommendations follow.

1. 10lbs is 4wks is the absolute maximum you should consider losing over such a short period of time. If you lose more weight, you are probably 'crashing' your system (i.e. you are not getting nearly enough calories and are losing weight because your body is eating itself).

2. I agree with the meal replacement shakes, but you need to eat more than 3 meals per day if you are looking to lose weight, but keep a firm, tone look when you are done. You should eat every three hours that you are awake. The reason for this is if you eat only 3 meals/day, you are putting your body through mini-starvation periods (ex. noon-6:30pm). This makes your body store fat more readily, to prepare for the next starvation. By eating every three hours you typically a)eat less, and b)safely lose weight. So long as you don't make every time you eat a meal, you'll do fine.

3. Exercise. This is crucial. To lose weight, you ought to do intense interval training. Longer aerobic workouts burn calories, but only for the time you are exercising. Interval workouts burn calories even after you are finished, but I won't lie, they are difficult. I recommend a combination of springs/jumps/lunges/pushups/s... Do one of those for 20-30s, then jog for 90s and repeat. Do four sets of four different exercises I've listed above, do them 3 days a week. If you combine them with some basic weight training, you will see results in 4wks.

4. Read. Read. Read. Get your hands on some literature that will advise you on the healthiest foods to eat (I am a devout follower of The Abs Diet). Also read anything written by Alwyn Cosgrove and Mark Versteegen, these two guys know how to make people look better.

use slim fast drinks for morning and lunch and then eat a small dinner you'll lose weight quick if you dont get any snacks in there stay away from diet pills as much as you can their not a miracle worker and drink ice cold water and green tea it will speed up your metabolism and energy
Do it yourself by eating more heathily, and setting a goal of 2-3 pounds/month. No diet pill will give you sustained weight loss.
diet pills in time will cause you to gain the weight back plus more. the natural way to loose weight is by watching what you eat calories . slack down on snacks and start walking as well swimming burns weight off as well and laying in the sun to tan that is a natural way to loose weight better than those diet pills ?
Don't use a pill. They are not regulated by the FDA, which means that they don't have to tell you what is in the pill on the bottle. They can have effects that you won't anticipate and it might not show up for years down the line.

You could use 10 pounds if you count your calories and drink lots of water. Exercise at least 10 min a day longer than you have been. If you don't know how many calories are in it... don't eat it! Make sure your output is more than your input!

You dont need diet pills, they are addictive and most are bad for your heart. If you have any health problems, make sure you talk to your doctor first before dieting.

Eat whole grains (wheat bread, couscous, brown rice, sweet potatoes) instead of white starches. Mostly though eat ALOT of fruits and vegetables. Make large salads with chicken on them your best friend. Eat small quantities of nuts and low fat cheeses, or a glasss of milk, as snacks... they will keep you going in between meals because they have some fat in them that will keep you feeling full. Avoid junk food as much as possible, but treat yourself to a little bit if you get the craving so you dont go crazy. And drink a BIG glass of water before evey snack and meal to make you feel full.

Please do not take diet pills. I did this for years by my mothers wishes. She is 5 '5 and is only 115 lbs and feels everyone needs to be that size. I am not and found that I end up gaining more weight when I stop with the diet pills. You may feel you want to lose weight right now for something going on right now, but you will want to be thin later too. If you take the pills and lose the 10 lbs right now, you may end up 20 lbs up later and be miserable then. So save yourself the heartache. Exercise and eating right the only true diet.
