~Are there any diet pills you can buy at the store where you don't have to be 18 to buy it?~?
Question:
Answer:
There's a reason you have to be 18 to buy diet pills: they're not safe for people under 18.
Before medications come on the market, they are rigorously tested for safety and efficacy, first in animals, and later in humans. Over-the-counter diet pills are approved by the FDA only for people over 18, so they're only tested for safety in people over 18. Over your lifetime, your body chemistry is continually changing, so medications act differently in people of different ages. There are even some things (most notably, certain antihistamines) that act as sedatives in adults and stimulants in kids. So when the FDA doesn't test something in teenagers, it might be fine for adults, but do something really bad in teens. That is very, very possible.
Even hair treatments respond differently in teenagers and adults. There's a fancy Japanese hair-straitening procedure that basically doesn't work in people younger than about 16 because their until then their hormones are doing crazy things.
Diet pills are going to tend to act on hormones and metabolism, both of which can change quite a bit during your teen years, and are likely to be different in a 15-year-old compared to even a 20-year-old. So taking diet pills when you're under 18 could have unexpected and potentially quite dangerous side effects.
Also, teenagers are still growing, and shouldn't be trying to lose weight unless instructed to do so by a doctor. If your doctor told you to lose weight, he/she should have given you some suggestions on how to do it safely. That probably doesn't include over-the-counter diet pills. If it did, he/she would have recommended one that was approved for use in teenagers, or one that he/she knew was safe for teens and asked your parents to buy it for you. If your doctor hasn't told you you should lose weight, it's a safe bet you don't need to.
If you're under 18 and feel you need to buy diet pills without the support of any adult who could buy the pills for you, there's a very good chance your perspective of the situation is somewhat distorted. It's really quite common for teenagers, as well as adults, to have an unrealistically poor perception of themselves or want to do more than they should to 'improve' their appearance or other aspects of themselves, and end up getting themselves into trouble of one form or another.
If you believe you need to lose weight badly enough that you need diet pills, please, please talk to your parents, doctor, school counselor, or another adult you trust. Trying to lose weight too quickly or without proper supervision can easily become extremely dangerous and even life-threatening.

Minors can have irreprable damage caused to their livers and other bodily systems if they take a drug recommended for adults. Seriously, gym class, a 5 mile bike ride each day and some healthy food instead of soda and crap will make a HUGE difference.
