How can I reduce my waistline without pills or fad diets?
Question:
Answer:
Burn more calories everyday. It sounds simple but it works. Most people do not know how to calculate this. The basic formula is Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity.

Remember, diet and exercise is best for lasting weight loss.
yes
exercises with a proper diet would help
Honestly, The best way is what people had been saying from the begining.Eat less, exercise more.
I recently cut my food size in half, so put food on your plate, then take half of everything off...drink a lot of water before during and after supper, because sometimes hunger can be mistaken for being thirsty. Then if you are really still hungry after you eat dinner and drink lets say, two glasses of water. Eat a little more.
its also good to do little things to improve how much you exercise, for example...park further away from the grocery store...every little counts.
try to practice uddiyana bandha (sanskrit for abdominal lock)
Bandhas are energetic locks that contain the prana in the torso and concentrate it in the three main energy channels (nadis) of the body. Bandhas can be performed in a physical and external manner engaging the skeletal muscles; it can also be felt as a subtle and internal energetic process. Bandhas are practiced individually at first, and then they can be incorporated with asanas, pranayamas and eventually mudras.
To practice Uddiyana Bandha, come into a comfortable siddhasana or sukhasana cross-legged seated position with the palms facing down on top of the knees. Let the eyes softly close and the breath slow and deepen. Quickly exhale all of the breath out through the nose, lean forward, press the palms into the knees, and engage the abdominal muscles to strongly pull the belly in and up under the ribcage. Hold the breath as you hold the abdominal lock for as long as comfortable. To release, soften the abdominal muscles, lean back and very slowly take a breath in through the nose. Take a few slow deep breaths in and out and let your breath return to normal before practicing additional rounds. Begin with practicing three rounds and you can slowly increase it to up to ten rounds over time.
Uddiyana Bandha strengthens the digestive fire and tonifies the body's energetic core. The abdominal organs are massaged, toned and purified and the adrenal glands are balanced by the abdominal contraction. Uddiyana Bandha is contraindicated in high blood pressure, heart disease, glaucoma, and pregnancy.
Try cutting out the sugar in your food and decreasing white bread portions. Instead replace with whole grains and higher fiber, leafy green vegetables(leaf lettuce, broccoli) etc. Try walking for 30 min 3times a week.
Avoid all fast-foods. Eat rice instead of potatoes. Avoid butter and chocolate. Become a vegetarian. Avoid all sauces and stuff like mayo and other dressings. No cheese. Plus walk a mile or so a day, every day. Also avoid all soft drinks, diet or not. Drink water.
I have been stuggling with this for about 6 months since I've had my baby. The only thing that seems to work for me is crunches, and lots of them. Regular crunches, side to side crunches, and inverted crunches (where you bring your legs up). If you are not eating tons of junk food, they will help flatten that tummy.
Not a dumb question - I've been skinny my whole life - up until a few years ago and now I"m struggling with my weight :( What I do that seems to help and is not a fad diet is weight watchers. No, I don't work for them! And you can do it online - and have a tonne of resources and it's more of a lifestyle/eating habit change than a fad diet. Of course, eat more fruits and veggies - stay away from fried foods, drink lots of water and exercise helps too. I know it's not easy!!
If you want to lose weight in the mid section, you need to do core training every day. Basically, do tummy crunches, fast walking or jogging, take yoga classes, check out an abs work out video at the library, or look up core strength training on the web. Good luck to you! I wish I could be 14 again! Have fun and make smart choices!
Here is what you need to do, if you are serious about losing weight and keeping it off. Eat 6 small meals a day about every 4 hours. Here what that will do for you, your metabolism will increase (i.e. Loose weight) and you will have more engry. If you go on a diet and eat less, your metabolism will slow down and store to fat. That is why diets dont work. Only the size of your fist, carbs (examples:baked potato, pasta, oatmeal, beans, corn, melon, apples, fat free yogurt, whole wheat breads)in one and protien (examples:chicken breast, swordfish, shrimp, turkey breast) in the other. You can also eat vegetables and salads with any meal, they dont have none or little fat). 30min cardo exercise every day. Any of these(examples: walking, jogging, swimming, running, biking, ect), Monday cardo, tues upper body (arms: curls, tricep extensions, pull ups, front press)(abdominals: leg pull crunch, leg raises), (chest: bench press, butterfly, pullover)(shoulders: front press, arm pullover, cross county skier machine)(back:seated row, lat pull downs, back extension)(YOU DONT HAVE TO DO IN ONE DAY, mix it up) wed cardo, thurs lower body (legs: leg pull, leg press, squats, lounges) fri cardo, sat upper. Sunday eat anything you want and dont exercising, you do this on sunday so your body doesnt go into starvation mode. YOU NEED TO TAKE SUNDAY OFF. If you stilck with this you will have a great body. also drink aleast 8oz of water daily! Stay away from Mcdonals, Wendys, ect because there is nothing good for you on the menu's even the salads are bad (beaon bits, cheeze, dressing, ect) Good Luck :)
