Safest Diet Pills?

Question:
I'm 17 years old and pretty active. I have cheer practice three times a week. Dance class once a week. And as of the beginning of summer i've been running after children for 8 hours a day. No matter how much I diet and work out...I cant seem to lose weight. My only option is now to turn to diet pills so I would like to know if anyone out there has taken any and if so....which ones do you think will be the most effective and safest for me.

Answer:
Please do not try diet pills because they are not the long term answer and many can cause negative health effects.

The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:

*1) Burn more calories then you're consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity. Get a diet and fitness calculator that you can put on your computer or cell phone. This will allow you to easily calculate this formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.

*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.

Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as potatoes) and drink lots of water. Read this article for more information on high GL Carbs:

Do not try fad diets or diet pills. Here is an excellent food pyramid that anyone can follow: http://www.rayandterry.com/html/images/p...

*3) Exercise on most days by doing cardiovascular training and/or resistance training activities.

Read a book or find a certified trainer to make sure your doing all resistance training exercises correctly. A great book to buy that teaches you the resistance training basics is “Weight Training for Dummies”. A superb magazine to buy with resistance training routines that will not get you bored is "Muscle and Fitness". Signup for the free newsletter. An excellent free online resource is at http://www.exrx.net/

A good book to buy that teaches you the cardiovascular training basics is “Fitness for Dummies”.

*4) Get plenty of sleep. Sleep experts say most adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep each night for optimum performance, health, and safety.

*5) Educate yourself continually on health issues and make a life long commitment to good health. A great free publication is “Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005”. A superb book to read is “You The Owner’s Manual”. An excellent periodic publication is the “Nutrition Action Health Letter”. A reputable test you can take to measure your biological age is at http://realage.com

Look at all areas where you can enhance your health. For example, make improvements in the quality of the air you breathe. Review outdoor air quality forecasts where you live and get an indoor air purifier. Email me if you want a good indoor air purifier recommendation and if you have other questions.

Stay away from diet pills. They can really mess you up. You are better off seeing a nutritionist to see why you are having problems losing weight. You might have a slow metabolism or problems with your thyroid so you might want to see your doctor first.
You didn't tell us what you eat.
None!

What do you eat each day, even being so active?

If it's fast-food, it's the reason that you're considering diet pills.

Just watch what you eat and you'll be fine after running around! :)
They personally dont seem safe to me. Seem kinda scary actually.

Umm... you woulr probably be better off going to a nutritionist and having them help you with that.
Believe it or not...but your "gene pool" has alot to say about what your predetermined "best" weight for you will be. You may have reached it. All that diet pills will do will cause you to "crash" the pounds off. Once you stop taking them, your body will readjust itself (if you havent damaged it) to its predetermined best weight for you. If you are really that active and watching what you eat, you shouldn't have to diet. Are you "really" looking into the right mirror?
Ah! No! If you've gotta, my advice would be just to take in a lot of caffeine, which is the active ingredient in almost every diet pill anyway. I mean, there's always NoDoz if you're not into coffee... but yikes, I'd avoid the diet pills. Just because something is natural doesn't mean it can't hurt you, and not necessarily every herb or whatever that's in those pills is tested...
Good luck with everything!
none. you need to lookatthe food you put into your body, check out the ZONE as a good lifelong way to eat, become healthy, stabalize your insulin levels (sugar). Hows your height to weight ratio? Whats most important is your body fat %.
ps pills are not your only option and never a good one- dont believe in the magic pill solution
DO NOT take diet pills. How much and what do you eat? That will have a lot to do with whether or not you will lose weight. Diet pills are only a temporary fix and not good for you.
IT'S NAME IS FOOD AND EXERCISE.
Here is what you need to do, if you are serious about losing weight and keeping it off. Eat 6 small meals a day about every 4 hours. Here what that will do for you, your metabolism will increase (i.e. Loose weight) and you will have more engry. If you go on a diet and eat less, your metabolism will slow down and store to fat. That is why diets dont work. Only the size of your fist, carbs (examples:baked potato, pasta, oatmeal, beans, corn, melon, apples, fat free yogurt, whole wheat breads)in one and protien (examples:chicken breast, swordfish, shrimp, turkey breast) in the other. You can also eat vegetables and salads with any meal, they dont have none or little fat). 30min cardo exercise every day. Any of these(examples: walking, jogging, swimming, running, biking, ect), Monday cardo, tues upper body (arms: curls, tricep extensions, pull ups, front press)(abdominals: leg pull crunch, leg raises), (chest: bench press, butterfly, pullover)(shoulders: front press, arm pullover, cross county skier machine)(back:seated row, lat pull downs, back extension)(YOU DONT HAVE TO DO IN ONE DAY, mix it up) wed cardo, thurs lower body (legs: leg pull, leg press, squats, lounges) fri cardo, sat upper. Sunday eat anything you want and dont exercising, you do this on sunday so your body doesnt go into starvation mode. YOU NEED TO TAKE SUNDAY OFF. If you stilck with this you will have a great body. also drink aleast 8oz of water daily! Stay away from Mcdonals, Wendys, ect because there is nothing good for you on the menu's even the salads are bad (beaon bits, cheeze, dressing, ect) Good Luck :)
