with telephone line you need a dial-up modem.in windows xp in add/remove programs - add/remove windows components.
check fax checkbox and install fax services.
then in your printer list you can see fax.
when you print some thing to this printer it ask you number and send fax for receive fax you can configure fax printer.
it has wizard that help u.
