Are there fees for faxing document, ex. from the Philippines to the US, via the internet?
Question:
Answer:
It is not free, and you'll find the charges higher than the per-minute rate for long distance. There are a lot of internet faxing links, all you can do is check them out:
http://www.myfax.com/2/fax_over_internet...
http://home.efax.com/s/r/internet?vid=33...
http://www.dataoncall.com/internet-fax-s...
http://www.faxaway.com/
Scan the files into adobe (pdf) format and email them. Faxing is outdated.
It CAN be done, but it is simpler to fax direct.
Note that faxing may give an "outline" of any impressed seals such as a notary, but these copies are NOT acceptable in most cases if the paperwork is for "legal" uses, such as in court, identification, etc.
You need a scanner to scan in the document, a fax program on the computer, a regular modem, a telephone line, and the fax number where you want the document to go.
It will appear on your telephone bill as a long distance call to the fax number, and will cost whatever the telephone charges are.
Here is the pricing page for MyFax: http://www.myfax.com/pricing.asp?bt=p... . If you scroll down to the pricing FAQ's the first question provides a link to all International rates. You would just select Philippines and that would give you the rate to/from USA to Philippines. Good luck
