I have a scanner, I have internet. Is there a way to send a fax with these two things? A program or something?
Question:
Thank you
Answer:
Yes it is built into the windows operating system. although you do not use the internet, but as long as you also have a telphone line and a moden your good to go.
if you do not see the program it may not be installed. to check goto the windows control panel, click on add remove programs and on the left side choose add/remove windows components. in there you should see "fax services"
make sure it is checked.
UPDATE::Bump further explained what i was refering to.
YES! There is definitely a way. MyFax allow users to send/receive faxes in their email account. You can send a fax from your email and it will be received at the recipients fax machine. When they fax you, they will type in your personal fax number and it will end up in your email inbox. It's very easy to use. You don't need any hardware or software. All you need to sign up is an email account. Try http://www.myfax.com
You need a 56k modem and a phone jack.. Your computer has a fax utility on it already. Look on the back of your computer for a phone-type jack. If you have one then you have a 56k modem and wil be able to fax right from your computer. NOT the enthernet port, that is NOT a phone line... Hook up a regular telephne line from your modem to the phone jack in your wall.
Assuming you have the right modem (and if you don't you can probably pick one up for less than 10 bucks and install it inside your computer) scan your document, then print it, but change where it goes. Go to File>Print and where you see the printer name, change it to fax. The fax wizard should pop up and then just follow the prompts.
If you do not have or want to install a modem, you can try an online fax service. They will take your emailed document and fax it for you. They are not free, but some offer a free fax or two as a trial.

Yes you can!!
I use http:///www.utbox.net
Australian company and you get your own fax number so can send and receive via email. No need to even scan in if the document is on your computer (you can scan your signature put that on your faxes)
They don't have a monthly fee and you can have a pre-pay account if you want.
Hope this helps!
