Fax Thru Email™ is a Fax over IP service that enables you to send and receive fax messages over the Internet. The service is a Web-based application that lets you send fax messages from the service's Web browser interface or from any e-mail program. You are not required to download any software to use the Fax Thru Email service.
To receive faxes all you need is an e-mail account. Incoming faxes are sent to your e-mail address as file attachments in Portable Document Format (PDF). In order to open and view a PDF, you will need Adobe Acrobat or the FREE Acrobat Reader.
To send faxes, you need an e-mail account that allows you to send e-mail messages with file attachments or Internet access from which you can send fax messages directly from the Fax Thru Email service. Fax-Thru-Email is for US and Canada fax numbers only. It cannot connect to international fax numbers that require a country code.
Web Browser Requirements
Fax Thru Email is designed for the Microsoft Internet Explorer v6.0 browser and also supports Firefox and Netscape browsers.

On the Mac OS, you can use Fax Thru Email using the Safari browser (v1.0 or later) or Internet Explorer 5 (or later) for Mac OS.
E-mail Program Requirements
You can use any e-mail program that allows you to include file attachments to an e-mail message. You must have a valid e-mail address to use this service.

There is software called efax. You have to go to the www.efax.com make a new account and you will get a fax number . That fax number you sent to who whats to sent you a fax .
There is a program called eFax. It allows you to have a virtual fax number which you can give out. Everytime you get a new fax, you will be notified by e-mail and you can look at the fax online. It's very convenient. Great for on-the-go business persons.
