Would a business directed at items for pets and people with pet themes be profitable{ greetings cards, dishes
Question:
Answer:
no
I think it could very well be profitable.. If you are good at predicting what people would like.. You could very well make a fortune.. Everyone loves to have a tshirt with their breed on it, coffee mug, or whatever.. Cards with their cat breed on it.. You name it.. You know when you go into stores and you see a rack you always look for your favourite breed.. if you can come up with the right things, people will buy your stuff..
Maybe instead of trying to start a full fledged business in the pet themed department, why don't you take some of the ideas that are original to you and put a patient on them first. Then you are free to propose the ideas to companies that are already up and running (ie: Petco) and put your product on THEIR shelves. It will save you TONS in marketing and they will have to come directly to you to get the product, leaving you with more profit than if you had to start your own business, in turn paying rent, expenses, employees, ect... Once you've made your million THEN start your own business.
Absolutely! There is an increasing market for those types of items. The number of families choosing not to have children and thus putting their love and $$ towards their animals is skyrocketing. I for one only buy birthday/Christmas cards that have my type of animals on them and look everywhere for them.
Good luck!!
probably not, i manage a pet store that sells small animals, birds, reptiles, fish, all of their accompanying products, and cat and dog everything you can imagine except the cats and dogs...i will honestly say that all of our profit comes from hard product like food.and toys, but everything else, we would not be in existence if we relied on it. youd deffinitly have to sell other products, food is the major one. getting high quality super premium products...you could become a holistic store or something like that.
Sure, why not? People spend a lot of money not just on their pets, but on pet related items and gifts.
First, try selling some of your items on Ebay. If they are a hit, then get your own website. If that goes well, then you've got it made! Maybe take custom orders, special requests, etc. maybe items personalized with the pet's name.
