Should I put full name on business card or abbreviate?

Question:
my email is going to be KathyLastname@. but should I put Katherine Lastname on my business cards to be more formal? what do people normally do? Jon's, Kathy's Cassi's etc

Answer:
I totally disagree with most people. It has nothing to do with professionalism, it has to do with preference. If you really prefer Kathy to Katherine and would rather people address you as Kathy, I would put Kathy on your business cards. My name is Debra, but I put Debbie on EVERYTHING. It's not like someone sees my name and says, how tacky, she didn't put her full name? If you really don't mind what people call you, I would put whatever name you go by most so people aren't confused.
Put your full name it would make you out to be more professional b/c abbreviated names are usually informal.
full name. more professional.
Use your full name and full title like Manager not Mgr
It's your choice - full name is fine, but so is initials and last name.
Full name
For a personal card - put Kathy - for a professional one - use Katherine. You want a certian amount of formality in business, formality commands respect - it also gives you the oppurtunity to pick and choice to whom you give the honor of becoming one of your intimates to be called Kathy. It's difficult to explain, but formality gives you a freedom in business. Your not friends or buddies, your there to make money and so you aren't obligated to do costly favors or to be popular - your there to work. If you make friends and are popular - so much the better.
I would definitely recommend your full name, no abbreviations at all. Name's like Jon and Kathy are often overlooked, but imagine your name being Roland and putting Ro on the business card. (That might give you a visual picture of how an abbreviation looks.) It is fine that your name is abbreviated in your e-mail but not on your business card. The financial services representative in our office has her name abbreviated in e-mail but not on card. (Her name is Deborah/Debbie.)
Go full name, looks nicer and people remeber your hold name better than breviate it.hear a sample full name .
John d. Doe now breviate it see witch looks nicer on your business cards.
Full name - always.
Put the name you go by. If no one calls you Katherine, then don't use it.
It's a business card and is supposed to be professional. Put your full name, including middle initial if applicable (Katherine C. Smith).
