Answer:
My first suggestion...take a Red Cross Babysitting Course, you'll be trained in infant/child CPR, first aid and many other useful skills.
The cost is approximately $45.00 and they will certify that you have taken the course...I would even go further and get full Life Support Training with them, it takes two nights and you have a certification card that is good for two years.
Next, I would ask your parents to possibly see if they can hook you up with a job or two from family friends or co-workers...then you have experience and references.
As for the business cards...Vista Printing makes them for free, basic ones that is.
I would have your name, phone number, mention your age, ***that you have certification, training & references upon request.
Availability: M-TH 3:30-9pm/weekends until 12am/Sun. 9pm
Oh, and come up with a cute name for your "Sitting Service"...like "T.L.C" Tender Loving Childcare.
The references are vital though Sweetie, because Mom's are pretty picky about who they're willing to leave their children with...but, friends of the family and your parent's co-workers will likely give you a shot on the recommendation of your folks.
When you're completely ready, go to Vista's website:
http://www.vistaprint.com/vp/ns/default.
...and you can even upload your own picture onto your card. ^_^.
Best of luck.
Does your school or local community centre offer a Babysitting Course? I'd check into that and ask your parents to sign you up (you need their signature). The course will be very beneficial and looks good when you go for babysitting jobs.
Ask your parents for more time and practise with your siblings. It will give them a break to get away from the house for a bit.
I probably wouldn't use cards unless you hand them out to people you know. There are a lot of creeps in the world and the last thing you need is some weirdo getting ahold of your name and contact info and calling you for a "babysitting job".
def. Put on the card you name, your phione number. Your title. When I was thirteen, i had business cards, and i did a presentation at church. I told them a bout me, and i gave out my businiess cards. I had so many clietns that i had to "hire" some friends to take some. I made a lot of money. but i was a certified babysitter too though. You should try to become certified.
That sounds really good, but why don't you just make fliers and hang them in your local supermarkets, drugstores, local community centers or even post them up on boards at your neighborhood churches. oh, don't forget to put how much you charge. Good Luck!
I don't think that business cards will be too helpful. I think your best option is to see if your parents have any friends that might want some babysitting help. I think your next best option is perhaps to make some flyers to put around your neighborhood (on light posts or something).
I would put all of the information that you posted, except for the fact that you have limited experience. It's sometimes easier to work out the details later (when you think you've gotten a job). I also would just write that you can do housework, not "light housework".
Make business cards. Good idea. I would put on their your home phone number, first name, and if you have taken a babysitting class put that on their too.
Good for you little miss future entrepreneur! Everyone has already given you good advise, go with it! I just want to give you props for your business-mind at such a young age! Good luck to you!
dont put that you only baby sit your little sister for a short period of time. jsut put your age, your name, your phone number and put why you'd be a good babysitter:
-age
-langue speak (if you only speak english then dont put this on...but if your bilangual or anything...add this on!)
-a or b average student
-can cook and some housework
-you know first aid
-what age you can baby sit the kids
DO NOT PUT HOW MUCH YOU WNAT TO GET PAID!
good luck! B)
