I would think you could print the black color on the white cards. I'm not sure if you can print on black paper anyway.
You have come upon a classic printing problem, for which your home printer can serve, but not particularly well. You see the only way it's going to happen is for you to print the black background with the white letters dropped out. Unfortunately there is a problem called choke... the ink in any home printer spreads before it dries, and a solid field of black will spread a lot.. Your type will get all nasty looking, and the smaller fonts may get obliterated entirely.
Try it and you'll see... plus which, you'll burn through that ink way fast.
Even with web and sheet fed presses (the real thing) this is a major tech problem.
You are better off going back to the drawing board.
It's great that you want to design your own cards, however, it will cost you more to print them yourself than sending them to a printer. You can search Business Cards on the web, and you'll find dozens of companies that will take your design, print it in full color (including black) and even emboss it for under $40.00 per 1000
When you include the massive amount of ink, the cost of the paper, and the waste from the bad cuts...the homemade cards cost double.
When searching...click on the Sponsored Link Ads...as often companies have specials here that are not on their regular website. Overnight Prints does good work, but if you buy from their regular website it costs you double, rather than if you search "business card printing" and click on their sponsored ad.
First, before you try anything else, try printing your design on black paper.
Yucky, huh? That's because your printer has red, blue, green and black inks. There isn't any white.
You can print those white cards black - but it's unlikely that you'll be happy with the results. An inkjet printer can only lay down a limited amount of ink. Black isn't going to end up black, and you'll get a lot of smearing. Even with my color laser printer, large black areas are sorta anemic black.
And laserjet ink is *expensive*.
It's cheap to get cards printed with *real* printer's ink, though. Check out places like iprint.com are always running deals.
Or have your cards printed photographically.
Most print shops quote 1000 cards when they price business cards. Most of the time, they are obsolete before 100 of them get passed out.
And when someone asks you for your business card, it's a way to say, "I'm through talking to you. Go away, please". And they toss the business card in a drawer, never to be seen again. You're better off giving them a brochure, rather than a business card. It might actually get *looked* at.
