Microsoft office publisher is all i use and i print all my cards,
flyers etc., the best thing is you can print as many as you want whenever you want and can edit it at any time.
It would be cheaper to have them printed. I got my photography cards for my business -- they're 4 color glossy on the front and black & white on the back. 2,500 for $99. Cheaper than buying templates at Staples all the time. Email me if you want the name of a couple of printers.
www.vistaprint.com has really cheap business cards and you do get to have some say in the design - excellent quality too!

If you would like to save money is the best solution. Software is brand new and includes 30.000 business cars and logo designs. This is the best software if you like to do something different from the rest, classic business cards. Simply impress!

You can print business cards, brochures, stationery, and also utilize ur photos if you want to.
Some pts to note:
1) Unless you want to laminate the cards, use a laserjet. Otherwise the ink may run, depending on ur usage.
2) If you want to use photos, inkjets typically give better print quality but the color lasers are probably acceptable.
I use Vistaprint for almost all of my printing. If you decide to go the home-made route I would suggest getting good quality Avery card blanks from staples or office depot and printing on laser rather than inkjet. Inkjet cards will smear if they get wet. Vistaprint is always having sales and thats what I would really recommend. You can get cards with a blank back that don't say anything about vistaprint too if that is your concern.
Go on EBAY to get them. Save yourself some time and most importantly money. I found 5,000 Business Cards, 2 SIDED, UV COATED, AND INCLUDES DESIGN FOR only $74.
