they are a postcard like card that is either attached or included as a separate piece contained within a marketing piece, like in a direct mail. The cocept is that you fill the card out with your information and mail it back in. That is the reply part. It can aslo include a purchase decision, like in the case of a magazine subscription, but they are very common replies for requests for further information.
