I would suggest Paypal and then also eBay, hands down the best way I know.

paypal, to accept Credit Card payments you need to go for the premiere account, still free. it's what I have and they only charge when doing transactions:

I sell on ebay and have a business account with PayPal.I can accept checks and credit cards.
