How long does a business have to hold time cards?

Question:

Answer:
These general questions are hard to answer.

Once the time cards are transferred into an electronic system, if the electronic system is considered to be the "legal record", then the time cards can be filed away and destroyed after 3 years. If the time cards themselves are the legal records, then they must be held for 7 years.
If it's a large company, they are mortally afraid of DCAA audits. They'll keep the records for at least 7 years.
untill you get your check ... if they are screwing you they will dump them quick .
