Question:
Recently I received a holiday card from a business in China. I think it would be appropriate to not send a holiday card, but thank them and send a nice card wishing them a happy Chinese New Year in February. I'm not sure what is most culturally sensitive and appropriate.
Answer:
Ever since China became the primary manufacturer of Christmas ornaments and paraphernalia, people in China have begun celebrating Christmas. This has less to do with the religious aspects of it and more to do with the festivity of the holiday. So go ahead and send that Christmas card.
I believe that it would be nice to send them a nice to do business with you and hope to do business with you in the future - a holiday card stating this would be alright!@~
Yes, of course. You should send. In China, people usually send new year cards to each other before 1st Jan. Or maybe you just send him a email card, that's also fine.
