Hi,

Sadly most business cards are boring, stating the business name, the phone number, email address etc.

But your business card is an advertisement for your business. Make it interesting.

Here's what I mean:

If you're a computer repairer and someone asks, "what do you do?" avoid answering "I'm a computer repairer".

Instead say "You know how frustrating it is when your computer just freezes and it takes you forever to get it back running again?

The person says "Yes, happens to me all the time".

"Well I show people how to stop that ever happening again".

Now you have an interested person because you've made them think "Wow, how does she do that?".

The same with your business card. Don't just state your business name etc. Too boring, that's what everyone does. Be different.

Define what problem you fix in your business (the purpose of every business is to fix other people's problems) then put that on your card.

For example if you have a real estate business your card might say: "Discover the 7 Biggest Mistakes Home Buyers Make When Buying a New Home" and give your toll free number. Or your card might say "Call this number for your $200 cash payment today" - this might be your referral fee for new business.

Have fun with it and get creative.

If your card doesn't look like anyone else's, you'll get more calls.

I trust this is helpful.

Let me know how it goes.

Warmly,

Slav
Business name, address, phone, cell, fax, email, website, title, a catchy phrase
I am a graphic designer and I can design a business card in my sleep.

When I do it, I like to use what I call an information hierarchy, ranking most to least importance. I believe that a person's name should always be higher than anything else, then phone/fax numbers, then email and finally mailing address.

People don't take this into consideration and put their names at the bottom and then your card gets put into a Rolodex, only to be neglected.
